Hannah whipped what looked like a metal box out of her pocket. It expanded into a long rectangle, then a stock popped out one end and a scope came out of the top. It was her laser rifle. As if on cue, she spotted three armed cultists seconds before they spotted her, and she blasted all three of them. Laser rifles were based on concentrated heat, so they burst into a mix of agonizing screams, dark smoke, and the awful stench of flesh cooking.

She spotted another, but he ducked behind a rock as she shot, and instead the beam kept going, coincidentally past Vinashy's head, and hit a wall of his mansion, starting a fire immediately.

She wouldn't miss twice, and the cultist met a tortured end.
