The Good Guys is a story based on My Hero Academia, but will take elements from the My Hero Academia spin off, Vigilantes, and a series I've binged and started reading, The Boys. Those who'll be participating in this will play teenagers on the older side, who aspire to become professional heroes, but lack the means and resources to pursue such a dream. I don't mind your reason, it just has to make sense; be a delinquent, a vigilante, or whatever. They also have to be exceptional, that's why they were chosen. They will be under the guidance of a named individual who has just enough influence to convince the government to allow her to start a program that targets the underprivileged but talented. 

What'll differentiate this from other stories based on the same source materials, to start off, would be the focus on "being a hero", "building and molding one's reputation", along with the repercussions of carelessness and collateral damage. Aside from that, we'll have the standard training, rivalries, villains, and whatnot.
This RP will contain SPOILERS. I won't mention which ones are though, just wanted those who aren't updated with the manga to know.
All individuals are not created equal. Some beings were born with gifts that others don't possess. These gifts, are referred to as quirks. The first incident, the first occurrence of quirks, was in China. An extraordinary infant was born with a unique power and came to be known as the Luminescent Baby. Then, as time passed, similar phenomena had happened all over the world, and soon, the majority of the population had obtained superhuman powers. 

We've became a Superhuman society. Our streets became scenes from comic books as cities were plagued with chaos and confusion as a new profession began to dominate the world, Heroes. With the rise of superpowers came an explosive global increase in criminal activity. While governments tried to figure out how to reform laws with quirks in mind, courageous people began performing acts of heroism to keep our cities safe. Protecting us against villains who abuse their powers for evil. With overwhelming public support, heroes found an official place as peacekeepers overseen by the government. 

The best, the most popular, the ones with all the t-shirts, and those on all the posters, were paid the most, and get all the fame and glory. Aside from their abilities and contributions to society, a Hero's career also depended on their ability to stay relevant, hence it is rather common for some to become glory-hounds, and egotistical. In a way, they became the new celebrities. And everyone wanted to be one. This social norm that the world had adapted made the hero career more accessible for exceptional students with equally exceptional quirks. Prestigious schools opened their doors to the youth of the world, aiming to train and mold the budding heroes of tomorrow.

Peace died a decade ago. Or at least, Toshinori Yagi did; peace simply crumbled with his absence.

He was better known as All Might, the Symbol of Peace, the Number One Hero, and a dozen other names. He was the greatest the world had ever seen, and he alone ushered in the Golden Age of Heroics. The Age of Peace. The Age of All Might. Sadly, all that he had established began to fall apart.

All Might's death remains a mystery to the public to this day. Some say that over a hundred villains overwhelmed and subdued him. While others, well, they had wilder speculations. However, nobody has advanced a credible claim for this darkest of deeds, and nobody has ever been charged.

Society has tried to adapt. Endeavor, despite his age, remains the number one hero for the past few years, but has been pushed ever further by the death of All Might, forever struggling to become the new Pillar of Peace. Crime and villainy have sky rocketed and the number of heroes that have fallen have significantly increased as the old days, and everything bad about it, came rushing back. 

It was a tragedy of a once tranquil city known across Japan. The perpetrators were a group of twenty men and women who held a grudge against heroes and what they stood for. By falsifying reports of organized crime, they drew the heroes out of the city before beginning their assault. The purpose behind their actions were unclear and appeared too well planned out to just be acts of violence. However, regardless of their reasons, in response to the sudden onslaught they had brought, the citizens of Deika City took up arms in order to defend themselves. Soon after, realizing that they had been duped, the heroes had returned to join the fight. After a fierce battle in which many innocent citizens lost their lives, the deaths of all twenty criminals were confirmed. Some argued that the use of quirks by the untrained contributed to the death toll, but the public largely proclaimed these decisive actions of the citizens as nothing but heroic.

This event set aflame the hearts of many. With the surge of crime and the number of heroes spread thin, many took it upon themselves to intervene. Reports of vigilantism exploded all over, but despite their honest intentions, such deeds were still deemed illegal. 

So, what was one to do in such a chaotic time? Well, let's find out.


 All Might's absence has exponentially led to an increase in crime, and along with this, the rise in the mortality and morbidity rate of not only civilians,  but heroes as well. Despite the prestige and wealth that was linked with the profession, the danger and responsibility made many hesitate to pursue work as a hero. This trend soon resulted into constant reports of vigilantism and bystanders needing to intervene as the current pool of heroes was spread out too much. Seeing this as an opportunity, the Big Sister Hero of Japan, Michiko Nishiwaki, submitted a proposition regarding an initiative that aimed to not only increase the number of existing heroes, but also address concerns regarding vigilantism and scouting of powerful quirks. 

This would be done through offering these individuals, an alternative option. Regardless of one's talent, in today's society, not all possess the same privileges and resources. Only a handful have access to the best facilities and those who don't are simply ignored by society. Villains like the Toxic Chainsaw could have been outstanding heroes if discovered earlier and given guidance. The next All Might could be somewhere out there, we just don't know it and choose to remain ignorant. 

This proposal held promise and convinced the government, but it was not without skepticism. Michiko was given the authority to carry out her plans, but with certain temporary restrictions. So, this is where you come in. Personally scouted by Michiko herself, you have been invited to join her team of plucky aspiring heroes. During the your time under her guidance, not only will your quirks develop, but also your virtues as a person and a member of society. Hopefully, you'll survive and make it through this into the world of heroics.

By the way, there are others things that you'll be doing but we can't talk about it here. We can't let the public know. Don't worry though, you'll understand everything eventually.

The Setting
Just to give you a brief idea on what we’re working with and how we’ll be doing handling the story.

This RP is set in the Hosu City, a ward located in Tokyo, Japan. This will be an alternative universe where All Might has died, and Endeavor has retired due to both age an accumulation of injuries. Outside of these characters, there will be no others from the source material. Location-wise and in terms of institutions, all still exist in this story. That would include Tartarus, Musutafu, U.A. High School, Shiketsu High School, and Ketsubutsu Academy High School, to name a few.
Instead of numbered ranks, with exception to who society deems as the best and number one, heroes are categorized by class, ranking from C Class to S Class. This classification does not necessarily correlate with one’s strength, but is a measure of a hero’s merit, contribution to society, and popularity.
Even though they work under the government, the general public sees licensed quirk-users to be not only heroes, but celebrities and influencers in their own right. Aside from their work as heroes, they are also allowed to be sponsored by businesses or larger corporations.
In the advent of social media, heroes often find it troublesome to act accordingly since their actions are easily misconstrued or interpreted in a different way, causing public backlash and at times, leading to their retirement. Laws have been established regarding the slander and defamation of heroes but aren’t made as strict as heroes would prefer since social norm has, in a way, decreased the number of civilian casualties and reduced the extent of collateral damage usually seen in confrontations of superpowered heroes and criminals.
Aside from Professional Heroes, under the government’s command, are the Japanese Police Force. Previous laws did not allow the enlisting of any officers with Quirks because they feared the superpowers may be used as weapons. However, due to the present dilemma that they face regarding the decrease in number of heroes, quirk-users were slowly accepted into their ranks. Police Officers are no longer limited to providing general support, low-level crimes, or simple arrests of criminals that have been subdued by Pro Heroes.
Lastly, quirks manifesting in animals isn’t as uncommon as it was and at present, the prevalence of this occurring is gradually increasing.
The Rules
By choosing to make a character, we will assume that you've read and accepted all the rules below.

Character Creation

In terms of characters, I'll be keeping an open-mind as long as it fits the setting of the world we're going with
Given that this RP will be based on My Hero Academia, I hope that we can replicate the tone they set for the series. We'll be a bit less lighthearted and expect the occasional sense of realism.
Potentially, there's are a large amount of powers/quirks you can choose from, as long as they're within reason. Just remember that Quirks are inherited genetically and typically manifest in children by the age of four, at the latest. They're basically an extension of one's bodily functions, so make sure to not go overboard. You can read more about them here.
Currently, quirks that you should stay away from would include anything that delves into the concepts of character control, time manipulation, reality bending/warping, and absolute energy manipulation.
An image for your character is a requirement. It helps both myself and your fellow participants when coming up with posts involving your character. The image that you use for your appearance can either be anime or in a more cartoonish style; no real-life or realistic images. Here are some examples: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6].
In a nutshell, just make a character that fits, and you're golden.

The OOC

As sappy as it sounds, what'll fortify and make this RP a success is gonna be cooperation from everyone who'll participate in it. I'm pretty sure that you all know that the only way this is going to work is through collaboration and having some sort of mutual respect towards each other. Any disputes between players should be taken to PMs. Hopefully, we don't see any form antagonistic behavior towards other players in the OOC. As long as we all keep our cool, then we're all good.
You can PM me your characters if you want them to be reviewed without the judging gaze of the other players, but they'll only be formally accept character sheets when they're posted in the OOC to give others a chance to give their input about them.
You can also PM me any questions you have, ask them in the OOC, or join me on Discord. Just PM me for an invite to the RP's server.
Also, Feel free to engage in general chatter in the OOC. It helps to establish that sense of community.
Don't reserve any posts in the OOC or Character Tab for a WIP character.
Lastly, make sure you keep us updated when it comes to activity. If you're leaving for more than a few days or going to be inactive, it would be nice if you notified us. Just so the RP doesn't stagnate.

The IC

It goes without saying, but to be sure, remember to avoid any god-modding, meta-gaming, power-gaming, et cetera.
In regards to post length, just remember that quality is valued more than quantity. No need to write a lot, just make sure that what you write should advance the plot and not stagnate the RP. This is a Casual RP, so one-liners don't really have a place here at all.
For post frequency, one post per week in enough. If you haven't posted in a week, and given no prior explanation as to why, your character will probably be turned into an NPC to be used by the GMs or players freely.
Posting more frequently isn't frowned upon; just make sure to wait and only post after at least one other player has posted. This is just to give room for slower posters to catch up. For extended interactions, head over to PMs or the Discord Server and consider making a collaborative post.
Not expecting it, but regarding romance in this RP, just keep it PG.

Ara often finds himself wondering why he has a quirk. He’s sure that it can be useful, else Michiko wouldn’t have chosen him - he must have potential but he isn’t sure that he’s up to the task ahead. He’s always ready to play and have fun. He takes too few things seriously but he can’t stand around and do nothing when someone needs his help - he’ll try to find a way even if he is powerless.

[BACKSTORY]

Ara was born in upstate New York and lived a fairly normal life for a kid. He noticed his quirk when he was three. Or that’s what he tells people. His parents said that they had noticed it at four. Once they’d realized what it was they had tried to mold him into someone who might find the ability to notice and read other people’s body motions pretty useful. His mother had the ability and she was an investigator; Ara had never liked the police movies they showed him as a kid. They thought he might do as a lawyer; his parent’s realized that he wouldn’t make the cut into law school. 

They had enrolled him in taekwondo really early on as a self defense mechanism and he excelled. To him, all of the openings were obvious. It was like someone was holding up a neon sign reading “STRIKE HERE! THEY’RE OPEN!”. He wasn’t always quick enough to take advantage of it because, frankly, the others could also see openings. Though, they were much more obvious to Ara. 

After five years he’d earned his youth black belt. That was when his father, a businessman, got accepted for a job in Japan. They moved, leaving everything behind. His friends, his extended family, his school and his dojo. There were plenty of taekwondo schools in Japan but he only spoke English. He couldn’t understand what was being explained. Even though he’d earned a black belt, it was from an American school so he’d been forced back into a white belt - having to earn his way through the ranks again. Ara wasn’t very interested in that so he figured if he had to earn his way again, he might as well start another art. 

Where Taekwondo harnessed the body’s power and applied it for maximum damage, Aikido harnessed leverage and body mechanics. Applying it in ways Ara hadn’t even considered before. Also, in America his dojo only held class twice a week, Hombu dojo holds classes throughout the day so within his first year he’d met the requirements to earn his first blackbelt with the second following a year later. 

He’d only recently earned his third one, three years after the second. He was in the middle of the road for progress at Hombu, there were a few who had started with him who had stuck around, who were working on their fourth as he had received his third. Though there were some who hadn’t earned their second or even their first.

Ara had graduated highschool at seventeen and was accepted to a private university to study Japanese history. He wasn’t sure what he would do with the degree but he knew that it interested him greatly. He had also recently found himself fighting in the streets in the vigilante movement. Ara wasn’t sure that he had what it takes to be a hero but he knew he could stop petty crime easily enough and did his part.

When Ara graduates in a few years he has plans to move back to the states and open dojo while teaching history. He figured that would be a good way to give back to the community that took him in. He hadn’t really considered where he would do any of this but that was still a ways away.  

[QUIRK]

Infinite Eye
Ara’s quirk allows him to see even the most subtle changes in a fighter’s stance. When he activates it, even the slight angle change of your lead foot or the fact that the right side of your hip shifted backward by a millimeter all become as obvious as the sun in the sky. It is as though an opponent is explaining what they are doing in great detail to Ara in real time. It is important to note that this ability does not allow Ara to see the future or perfectly predict an opponent’s move. It simply does not allow any movement to go unnoticed. It is still on Ara to decide what to do with the information, in real time.

[SKILLS]
Skill

- Kenjutsu - Ara has studied Aikido at Hombu Dojo since he was fourteen. In the five years he’d been there he had earned his third degree black belt. In his study, he’s focused on swordwork and is respected among his peers for it. Of course his swordwork isn’t really anything compared to the head of the dojo, the doshu, but he is one of the more advanced students who focus on swordwork.

Why me..? Ara couldn’t think why he would be chosen for this. Surely she saw something in him that he didn’t but… Are there no others..? His quirk wasn’t speed or power oriented. Sure, it would be useful to tell what an opponent might do next but if all he had to work around that was a sword and his fists then that wouldn’t be too useful… Would it..?

He decided that he would find out. He knew she wouldn't choose him randomly so she had singled him out. That meant she saw something he couldn't. He wanted to know what it was.

Christopher is your quintessential loner. He finds it hard to talk to people, who have often been repulsed by his appearance. As a result, he has a deep distrust of people. Despite this, he wishes for the world to see him as a hero, to prove that just because he looks scary, he is still a good guy. To this end, he is a hard working perfectionist, and looks down on people he feels do not apply themselves 100% to a situation. This often leads to tunnel vision and an inability to multi-task. Prone to going off and doing his own thing, if he feels the directions given are inadequate, bolstered by his distrust of people being close to him.

[BACKSTORY]
Christopher Webbins grew up in outback Australia, where he lived life happily away from most civilisation. The son of two farmers, life was simple until a severe drought killed off their canola farm and their livestock. Unable to properly recuperate the losses, the Webb family moved to Japan, where the parents had been offered a job in the agricultural industry. It was there, in the thriving hub of quirks, surrounded by all sorts of weird and wonderful people, that Christopher began to be shunned and reviled by his peers and classmates at school. Without any friends, he focused on his studies, hoping to become someone people would want to know, so he could help them study. Suffice to say, people still found him gross and unpleasant to look at.

In the present day, having just graduated from school with next to top of the grade marks, he found himself with nothing to do. Getting a job was difficult in the current climate, so he found himself passing time by lurking dark alleys and rooftops, jumping in to terrify criminals and the odd villain, then apprehending them with web and running off after notifying authorities. Because of his want to be helpful, his want to punish the bad, and his want to be seen as a good guy despite appearance, he aspires to be a hero in the limelight, as a beacon for people with physical morphological based quirks.

[QUIRK]
Tarantula - Does whatever a tarantula can do in essence. This includes wall climbing, web spitting, sudden bursts of speed, the ability to flick hairs that paralyse and cause immense itching on contact, as well as a physical strength deceptive to appearance. Scared of fire, and slows down when exposed to extreme cold, to the point of hibernation. Also surprisingly fragile, and tries to avoid up front fights.

[SKILLS]
Keen Observer - Given his propensity to tunnel vision in on the task at hand, he will often notice small or minute details, as long as it is relevant and pertinent.

Survivalist - Able to function on little water and food, provided he gets enough rest.

Claustrophilia - Prefers to filter into as small a location as possible, and is okay with not moving for an extended amount of time, making him good at observation and espionage.

Christopher Webbins looked at the offer in his hand incredulously. After a lifetime of rejection based on appearance, and the difficulties that encompassed, why would someone go out of their way to head-hunt him for a position. It was curious, none-the-less. It would no doubt be worth going in, and at least listening to the situation, and making an informed decision when he had all the facts. And if he wanted to be a hero one day (he had often fantasised about being called 'The Spider Hero: Webb') then this could potentially help spring board him in that direction. And besides, it was either this, or another night of instant ramen followed by back alley crusadership. The choice was obvious.

@Duoya No rush dude.

@Melkor I’ll have to say yes on being familiar with the series. What I have here is kind of superficial.

It’s anime’d Japan and more high end when it comes to “technology”.

As a whole, nothing done wrong with the sheet. Stuff I’d like to include and clarify would be his quirk. How else do you see it improving? And include some sort of visual/aesthetic indicator that he’s using his quirk. Maybe a change I’m eye color or appearance? Blood vessel that surround it start to bulge?

Also, characters that are gonna be part of the team should want to be in the team. Just wanted to make that clear.

@ResultsMayVary Stick everything in a hider. Aside from that, we’re all good. I’ll ask for the details later. Funny read. Hold off posting in the character page though.

@Vinsmoke Goji Thanks for the feedback. As far as wanting to be in the team - I want that to be character development later on. It's more of a believing in himself thing. I'm not really willing to budge on that. So, if that is a requirement then I'll think of another character. Otherwise, I can make his eyes glow white when he uses it. I'm not sure what you mean about improving... In the end, it's just really good body language reading. Maybe his reaction times can get shorter over time? Also, I can binge some anime - no problem there xD

[PERSONALITY]
Ryoko is a rather poisonous person. Her words are crude and without reservation; very little would stop her from speaking her mind. Usually, this results in her calling people "stupid" or insulting weird behaviours, but there's often a layer of actual caring underneath all of her foul remarks. Rather than insult others in order to bully or hurt them, she callously calls out problems that she thinks she should be fixed. She's rather sociable for someone so rude. Though, that's mostly because she hates being alone. One could consider Ryoko to be, deep down, someone who wants the best for everyone but hides behind the walls that she built.

[BACKSTORY]
Ryoko wasn't exactly born in a traditional household. In fact, she didn't even know her father. Her mother didn't exactly work at a respectable establishment. After all, she wasn't able to get such a job that she could take pride in. In spite of this, she was a good person and tried to raise her child as best as she could. Even though her early life was tough, Ryoko loved her mother.

But she never really was accepted by other people. She was an outcast at her school. She could never take pride in her mother. As a result, she quickly had to adapt to have a quick skin. No longer was she able to care about what people said about her. She had to ignore them. She had to bite back. When middle school graduation came along, she was considered to be a delinquent. She never went to high school after that. Instead, she began to work at a small appliance shop.

Her first instance of vigilante action was dumb chance. Late at night at a convenience store, she had encountered some unsavory fellows harassing an old lady. Rather than call the police or notify the owner of the employees inside, she took matters into her own hands and went to town with a wrench. Besides a few bruised asses and egos, the two men were fine. The old lady ran to the police, like an actual smart person, and Ryoko became a blip on the radar.

[QUIRK]
Shedding - Ryoko has the ability to shed her skin and manipulate the loose cells. Because of this, she has a fairly versatile quirk that allows her to create and control simple objects. While technically she can use all of the skin on her body, doing so would cause her immense bleeding, pain, and long term side effects due to being a skinless monstrosity. As such, she is effectively limited to using a safe amount of cells: only part of her epidermis. As long as she maintains skin to skin contact with her cells, she can freely manipulate them so long as she maintains her concentration.

Even though she can make simple objects, it's rare for her to make things larger than her pinky. This is both because of her limited resources and the inherent properties of the skin. Being naturally elastic, her skin is much more suitable to be formed into objects such as rounds (which more resemble rubber pellets) that she can "fire" or strings that she can control with a modicum of accuracy. Though, that isn't to say that she would be unable to alter the properties of skin that she's controlling.

As a side effect of her quirk, her skin is naturally thicker (about twice as much) than the average person and she can regrow skin at a considerably faster rate than others. Though, for her to reach her peak growth rate rather than be below average, she must remain on a healthy and controlled diet. The control of her power is also controlled by this, as dry and bad skin becomes hard to control, manipulate, and even shed.

Tinkering - Ryoko is half decent at fixing things. She isn't exactly a journeyman, though.
Iron Stomach - She can eat anything barely edible. Her mother's cooking wasn't good.

"Really now?"

The massive woman—in more ways than one—standing outside the door had come with an interesting proposition. To come out in the middle of a storm was a bold move and the offer of being an actual hero? One of the good guys? Pff. Ryoko gave up on that a long time ago. Going to a hero school and all of that was a long forgotten dream of an idle elementary student. With a shrug, she beckoned the large horned woman inside of the shop and took a seat at her desk. Picking up a screw driver, she went back to opening the top of a teal sewing machine.

"Well, your offer is definitely something," Ryoko mumbled as she focused on the screws, "but I think I'm..." For whatever reason, Ryoko had stopped. Her fingers were deep in the wires of that decrepit machine. She took a look around her. The old, musky shop filled with hundreds of manuals strewn about the place. Dozens of specific tools, rusted and worn down from years of use. She looked at her hands, cut from strands of copper wire until calloused. Her eyes caught her very own wire strippers, where the blade had a noticeable hole from when she popped a live wire. She took a deep breath, put down her tools, and leaned back on her chair.

"I think I'll accept it."

@Melkor I'm cool with character development, just trying to avoid a scenario where he ends up wanting out or something.

Well, in the source material, they treat quirks as bodily functions and they improve in certain aspects. For Ara, on the top of my head, improvement could be increasing the number of people he can read at a time or tolerating mental fatigue since he's perceiving more stimuli that the usual human. They do a bunch of quirk training in the anime and manga, so its easier to understand. I could give you other examples but that'll spoil it for you.

@OwO I think all bases are covered. Just for clarification, aside from the whole shedding and manipulating of skin, she can also propel it and in a way, move it around in a telekinetic-type manner?

She can't really control it if she's not touching it, so she can only shoot it like a gun. Straight lines only with a single impulse.

If she's holding it, like a whip, she can control it so long as she's focused.

@Vinsmoke Goji Understandable. I don't see him wanting out - it's not him not wanting to be there. He's cool with helping where he can the issue is with him not thinking that he's up to the task. I like the focusing on multiple opponents/reaction time quirk development. Anyway, other than the quirk, is there anything I should change about Ara?

Nanatsuga Hakaizen, hero name Redline.  As called Hakai-nii by his younger sister.

[PERSONALITY]
Hakaizen is kind, considerate, and softspoken, but protective to a fault.  When someone he cares about is injured, insulted, or threatened, he typically becomes extremely aggressive.  Actually, when it comes to his friends or family, he can be a little quick-tempered and doesn't always respond to jokes well.  This comes from a place of caring extremely deeply for the people in his life.  He also has a dangerous lack of competetiveness, which can become complacency.  He often needs someone to push him to aspire to greater heights.

[BACKSTORY]
Hakaizen has no idea who his parents are.  Whoever they were, or might have been, he had a really low opinion of them.  Not just for abandoning him at an adoption center as a baby, but for also abandoning his twin sister Hanako, of whom ehe was fiercely protective of.  The two of them were living with a group of children at the center until he and Hanako were five.  During this time, Hakaizen and all the other children discovered their Quirks.  All, save for Hanako.  She was unbothered by not having a Quirk, never having been terribly interested in Heroes or Quirks.  

They were adopted by a man named Hachigen, a boisterous man, with a booming voice and massive heart.  Hachigen gave them a place to live, and to grow, pushing them to pursue their happiness and above all else, look out for each other.  Hakaizen took that lesson to heart.  As the twins grew up, they were happy with Hachigen, even if the bakery he ran didn't bring in a lot of money.  However, Hakaizen repeatedly got in trouble for fighting at school.  Hanako, being Quirkless and too sweet to defend herself, was bullied frequently.  This often led to Hakaizen getting into fistfights with the bullies, to the point where while he was a second-year in high school, he was finally expelled from his school.  He wasn't terribly bothered by that, as he'd planned to drop out and get a job, anyway.

Hakaizen was content with the simple life of a worker, when one day while walking hom, he noticed a pair of rambunctious boys chasing each other around.  One fell over in the street, only skinning his knee.  However, he was laying directly in the path of an oncoming car. 
 Hakaizen didn't mean to involve himself, he didn't even really think about it.  As soon as he saw it, he began running and building up speed.  He reached out and managed to touch the car before it could hit the boy, laying a hand just above the driver's side wheel well.  It suddenly took a sharp turn away from him, avoiding the boy by inches.  Hakaizen himself suffered a sprained wrist paired with a broken arm, the sheer amount of force extremely hard on his body, but was alive.  The passerby on the crowded street took pictures for various social media sites, and just like that Hakaizen became a potential candidate for Michiko Nishiwaki's initiative.

[QUIRK]
Momentum Transfer - Hakaizen possesses an internal organ that stores momentum as he moves.  He is able to "transfer" the momentum into anything he touches, either with his hands or his feet.  By touching a loose object (i.e, something not bolted or otherwise connected to the ground) Hakaizen can "push" the object.  If he tries to transfer momentum into an object that is too heavy or sturdy to move, he experiences a "rebound" effect, resulting in himself being pushed away from the object.  He can pass the momentum through thin objects, allowing him to use his Quirk even while he's wearing shoes and gloves.

For example, if he were to release the momentum from his hands into a standard human-sized opponent, it would push them away from him at a speed directly proportional to how fast he was previously moving.  This is his primary form of offense, moving quickly and then pushing opponents.  However, if he were to release the momentum from the soles of his feet into the ground, he would be pushed away from it.  This is his go-to maneuver, and by releasing momentum just before a jump, he can significantly increase his leaping speed and distance.

The weakness of this Quirk is that it requires Hakaizen to constantly be moving.  If he stops, the stored momentum simply empties out. 
 Additionally, the force with which he can push objects/foes will only ever be equal to how fast he is moving, so if he slows down, the force of his Quirk will also drop.  This requirement makes his constantly-mobile fighting style very exhausting, rendering him weak when it comes to battles of attrition.

[SKILLS]
Stable Stomach - Hakaizen is nearly immune to motion sickness, dizziness, or similar effects caused by rapid or jarring movement.


Natural Gamer - He is talented at nearly every video game he plays, especially fighting games.  However, he is awful at RTS games.


Dancing Fever - He's pretty good at dancing.  His favorite is break-dancing.

[SAMPLE POST]
Hakaizen's body swayed to an inaudbile beat and his fingers strummed an invisible guitar as he danced alone in his room.  His eyes were closed and his headphones clamped tightly over his ears.  The music was loud, exactly how he liked it.  He jumped around, putting on an incredible show for the audience in his mind.  Sweat dripped down his forehead and around his eyes, framing his face in a glistening sheen as the show went on.  He was getting into it.  So into it, that he didn't see his sister Hanako standing in his doorway, watching him dance with a mischevious grin.  While his eyes were shut tight, and his fingers blazed in an imaginary guitar solo, she snuck over to him, pulled one of the bulky headphones away from his ear, and...

"HAKAIIIII-NIIIIIIII!!"

The young man yelped and reflexively tossed his headphones across the room.  He held his chest as he caught his breath, Hanako doing a poor job of holding back her laughter as his mini panic attack subsided.  He glared up at her.

"Why you little..."

She held up a single finger.  "Ah, ahhh, hold on a minute there, rockstar."  She gestured down the stairs with her head.  "You've got a visitor.  Some super tall lady."  Hakaizen rose an eyebrow.  "Super tall lady?"  He followed her out of his room and down the stairs. 
 Sure enough, there was a woman of impressive stature sitting at their dinner table.  He crossed the room and sat with her.  "Can I help you?"  He warily eyed her confident, big sisterly grin.

Hours after Michiko Nishiwaki had given her proposal and phone number to Hakaizen, the young man was laying in his bed, staring up at the ceiling.  It's true that Heroes make good money, money that would really help out around here.  But... is that what I wanna be?  A hero? 
 He closed his eyes and thought about that question.  Thought about saving that kid, the act that had gotten him in to this.  He thought about how he felt when the kid thanked him, tears in his eyes.  The feeling that filled his chest when he'd saved that kid was his answer. 
 He opened his eyes and fished his cellphone out of his pocket, punching in Michiko's phone number.

"Nishiwaki-san?  It's Nanatsuga Hakaizen.  If it's not too late, I'd like to take you up on your offer, please."

[OTHERS]
Despite being their legal guardian, Hachigen has never asked Hakaizen and Hanako to call him "father."  The twins simply refer to him as Old Man Hachi, or just Hachi.
