She presents herself as generous and kind, and seems to always see the best in others. She frequently participates in group activities, though almost paradoxically she always puts herself on the sidelines and allows others to take the spotlight.

In truth, although she really is a kind and polite girl, Yui suffers from social anxieties and self-doubt. She fears letting others down and dislikes being relied on, and when given praise she will usually respond with an almost dismissive level of humility. Privately she is very critical in her assessments of foods, books, and other such things - but despite receiving better than average grades and having some skill herself, she is far more critical of herself than she is of anyone else.

[b][color=Crimson]Your Story Thus Far:[/color][/b] Yui is and always has been a seemingly average, normal girl. The daughter of a workaholic salaryman and a traditional housewife, she was an only child growing up. Her parents and extended family were the type to be very, very concerned with appearances, performance, social status and all manner of things - and they made this apparent and very clear to Yui from a young age. This contributed significantly to her social anxieties and phobias, as well as her higher standards and critical thinking skills.

While she did perform above-average in several areas, she spent much of her childhood and school life following the expectations of her family as best she could. Sports were not appropriate for a girl, according to her family, but she was expected to know how to cook - so she avoided sports, and joined the cooking club. Much of her life has otherwise been spent keeping her head down while trying to ensure she doesn't disappoint her family or anyone else.
