Oh I agree. The body shouldn't go that long but we also got to take into account that we aren't dealing with a human being with human limits. I wouldn't call it far fetched to say a vampire could go longer without feeding. Maybe make it an even 3 months rather then 3 weeks and the character has even longer to find an appropriate target to feed on
