[b][color=Crimson]Personality:[/color][/b] Ren is the kind of guy that will, if nothing else, do the work.  He throws himself into work, and never skimps on his chores.  He does this because he's scared that if he slows down, if he stops, he might become a version of himself that he doesn't like.  To avoid that, not only is he dutiful, but he's also extremely considerate and respectful, simply trying to make people smile instead of frown.  His considerate and hardworking natures often make an uncomfortable combination for him, and he is guilty of going out with friends out of obligation, without getting much enjoyment out of it at all.

Luckily for him, despite his kind and caring demeanor, he doesn't make very many friends.  While he is always respectful towards others, he is also very distant.  Even with friends he's known for a while, he uses formal honorifics when speaking to them.  He's frequently told that he's much too stiff, and that even though he's very kind, his issues getting close to people sends mixed messages.  However, in the end, he never stops trying to be better.

[b][color=Crimson]Your Story Thus Far:[/color][/b] Tsuchihana Ren was originally born to moderately wealthy parents.  His father managed a hedge fund for an investment company overseas, and his mother was the Vice President of a young but rapidly growing restaurant chain.  As an infant up until he was a toddler, he lived in a nice, western-style home not far from Tokyo.  He was too young to grasp his privilege, but the truth was he would never want for anything.  However, all was not well between the parents, who simply fell out of love with each other.  When Ren was five they divorced.  He went to live in a new house with his mother, and his father silently disappeared from his life.

Life with his mother had it's own issues.  Her work demanded that she very rarely be around Ren, and while his father sent money, and toys, and video games, Ren's mother always took credit for the gifts, reinforcing that Ren's father had abandoned him.  With no real friends at school and no family at home, Ren quickly became miserable.  He began to act out and was routine disobedient.  When he was ten his mother couldn't stand it anymore and sent him to live with her parents on their farm in the country side.  This was a major culture shift for Ren, and the adjustment took a long time.  For quite a while he was standoffish, and wouldn't socialize if it wasn't an absolute necessity.  However, all that changed when he met Hase Saki in middle school.  The two of them quickly became the best of friends, doing everything together.  They were inseparable, frequently spending nights over at each other's homes.  Saki helped Ren open up and repair the bridge not only between himself and his grandparents, but also with his mother.

Now in his last year of high school, Ren is balancing working on the farm, track, and his job working as a waiter in a popular cafe, while also burning the midnight oil studying for his college entrance exams, all the while secretly wishing for something, anything to happen to break up the monotony of his daily life.
