Rusty brown locks of medium length frame strong, handsome features, a healthy complexion offering an air of energy and vitality to the young man's face. He doesn't adorn himself with any jewelry or finery, preferring to maintain a simple, functional appearance.[/color][/indent][/indent][/indent]

Full length black pants cover his legs, tucked into knee-high boots- the calves bearing metal plates. A simple, snug-fitting shirt of black is worn beneath his trademark dark green zip-up hoodie. Hidden beneath the baggy sleeves are fingerless gloves that rise to his elbows, the forearms, like his shins, metal plated. His forehead protector is sewn into the right shoulder of his hoodie, and he maintains a standard ninja-tool pouch on his thigh. 

Outside of conflict, he loses the gloves and boots, instead favoring black shorts, simple black sandals, the same old black shirt, and of course, his hoodie, the sleeves usually rolled up past his elbows to keep cool.

To sleep, he wears the shorts, and naught else.[/color][/indent][/indent][/indent]

While his elder brother, next in line to lead the family, was pushed to excel in all things, Mamoru was coddled by mother and father both as the baby of the family. This may have led to a life of ease and laziness, given his family's comfortable position in the hierarchy of the Ginshō class... If not for his elder brother. Where their parents coddled him, his brother pushed him- pushed him to be just as good as he was, if not better. He had access to the same tutors, the same instructors, and if ever he failed to make use of them, his brother was swift to box him around the ears until he did. In a family that excels in combat, Mamoru and his brother were both exceptional, bearing the strength of their father and the skill of their mother in spades.

Three years behind his brother, Mamoru may as well have experienced the academy twice. He watched through his brother's eyes, soaking in the stories and lessons his brother took on day after day- and when it was his time, he went in prepared. Without the pressure of first born status weighing on his shoulders, he was free to tackle the work at his own pace, finding joy in it, rather than stress. He excelled at classwork, the blessing of his mother's keen mind making it a practical breeze- and when it came time for practical lessons, he positively shined. His natural physique and skill had the tai jutsu instructors hard pressed to challenge him. Genjutsu, however, escaped him entirely- and in the arts of ninjutsu, he proved to have exceptional talent in manipulating chakra... But a poor understanding of how to configure it into ninjutsu. While he successfully learned jutsu, it took him nearly double the time that it took the rest of the class, and his command of them remained... Iffy, at best.

To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalize the body and move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance and elevation between the user and the intended destination.

It takes surrounding stone and pulls it to the user's body, creating an armored shell impervious to most attack, that also offers extra weight to the user's own strikes- at the cost of much slower movement. It is vulnerable to lightning-type attacks, which can shatter the armor outright.
