I don't think the devs hate gay people (there are trans people they interact with everyday, so they're definitely not staunchly anti LGBTTQQIAAP), I just think their sense of humor still involves using the word "gay" because it kind of sounds funny.
devs have said some incredibly shit things about trans people and feminist things. be their opinion come from ignorance or bigotry doesn't really matter for this. replacing a letter with g to make the word gay to "parody" a soap brand is about as funny as putting in a single ice cube when the person asks for a couple. it also doesn't matter because people weren't actually mad about the bottle saying ogay. they were mad because of the devs saying really shit things that they shouldn't have said on their discord and having "fagbag" be in a secret (albeit not fully accessible?) area. when you compound it all together, it's not a good look. if it was just the bottle of soap, the actual disdain for it would be considerably less. the reason why people are upset about the rollback is because it's such an obvious corporate move. there is no censorship, there is no hill to die on. every reason that they gave was a total crock. it's just a company that realized that chuds mobilize their doodoo heads to review bomb games that buckle to pressure, so they're trying to play both sides to push a product. i can at least respect the hustle, but i'm still going to make fun of the devs and 3d realms for having no balls. so i'm rambling now and going off the hinges, so really my comment was just a dig at chud "journalists" like the one that was linked earlier and not the devs. "...it’s also a reminder to those of you out there who are tired of seeing politics forced into your games. You can push back. You have a voice. Use it." that's the line. someone unironically wrote that about a bottle of ogay.
