After watching her mentor leave and finishing her meal at the Quicksand, A'lythana took another glance at the poster for The Blessed Twelve. She still had a fair amount of time until she needed to be back here according to the poster. She took a few moments to check with herself if she had all the supplies she needed, tilting her head back and forth as she listed off various items in her mental checklist before finally realizing what she still needed, books! With her mission at hand, A'lythana set off towards her favorite book-lender in the city-state. As she opened the door, A'lythana couldn't help but smile as the scent of old books wafted out towards her. Taking a step inside, she took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the darker interior of the room before beginning to meander around and browse its titles. Although she knew where her preferred genre of books was in the place, she always followed her usual routine of wandering for a little bit to see if anything unexpected would catch her interest. A couple of books catch her eye before she finally settles on 'A Fisher's Guide to Thanalan' and makes her way to where all the romance novels were. She eyes over all the various titles, picking up a few of them in mere moments as she recognizes they were new entries in their respective series of books while ignoring the raunchier titles such as '50 Shades of Ul'dah' and 'Beautiful Dastards,' she has standards after all. She also selected some new titles which caught her eye, such as 'Gone with the Aether.' After a few moments, the Miqo'te had herself an armful of books which she promptly brought to the front desk. "No... Nononono, that couldn't have been the last copy, I KNOW there were more copies!" A'lythana glanced over to the customer making a fuss in the store while she paid for her books, wondering to herself whether she might have picked up the book the other Miqo'te was looking for. The Red Mage did not have much time to ponder on this thought, however, when their eyes locked onto one another's and, in the blink of an eye, A'lythana found herself in desperate need of her personal space. "YOU! You took the last copy didn't ya!" The woman yelled, her piercing blue eyes glaring and emanating pure malice towards A'lythana. "Err... Come now, there's no need to raise your voice my good lady, maybe you just didn't see it at first glance? Besides, you don't even know what kind of books I read, how could you possibly know if I have it or not?" A'lythana reasoned, trying to calm the other woman as she gathered her books so she could leave without incident. "NO! I know you have it! So you're going to hand it over if you know what's good for you!" The Miqo'te threatens just as A'lythana finishes gathering up all of her books. "Alright, alright, just give me a moment to-" With a sudden swiftness that one would not expect a small woman encumbered by numerous books would have, A'lythana dashed out of the book and into the streets of Ul'dah. She ran for a bit, hoping her aggressor would not give chase, only to hear the all too familiar voice yelling at her from behind. The Red Mage quickly darted into a nearby alleyway, hoping to lose her pursuer among the numerous side streets and levels of the city-state. After a while of running, A'lythana eventually slowed and stopped to catch her breath, fairly confident that she had lost the crazy lady from the book store. Her confidence was shattered once she looked up to find the very same woman, though now tired and sweaty, still glaring at her. "Oh seven hells... What I have done to incite your wrath Rhalgr?.." "Done running are we? Good, because I'm done playing nice girl, I am getting that book whether you like it or not." The crazy Miqo'te states with an almost feral look as she cracks her knuckles and begins to close the distance between them. A'lythana glances around before letting out a reluctant sigh, she was backed into a dead end with the only way out being blocked by her aggressor. She briefly glanced at the sword on her hip before letting out another sigh as she raised her fists instead. This was not a matter to kill over, which only meant that this was going to be much more painful than she would have liked.
The main door to the Quicksand slams open as a Miqo'te in red makes her way inside the establishment with an armful of books. At first glance, she would look like any other person who spent their day in the Ul'dahn heat, tired and sweaty. However, upon further inspection, one would notice that her hair was quite disheveled, her clothes caked here and there with dirt and dust, and a couple of what look to be scratch marks among a few fresh bruises. "Sorry I'm late! I uh... I had a bit of a situation to deal with. It's not too late to join is it?" A'lythana asked after finally getting a moment to catch her breath. The Miqo'te then began to slowly make her way over to an empty table, looking forward to setting down all the books she had in her arms. Unfortunately for her though, this would not be the end of her troubles as she unknowingly steps on an empty flagon that was left on the floor. Among some of the onlookers, she could make out various expressions of shock, horror, pity, and the all too familiar expression of someone just waiting for the inevitable, as she seemingly fell in slow-motion with various works of literature cascading down to the floor all around her. For those around her that were less dramatic, they would have simply seen her knocked off balance by the flagon before ungracefully falling to the floor with a high pitched squeak, all of her books following suit with the last one directly hitting her head and eliciting a groan from the woman. "Owwwww...."
