She was being brought to an audience with her Majesty the Queen. The issue could have been easily handled, except for the fact that she wasn’t on her ship when the harbor patrol caught her. But the frigate had a new said design that was making it faster when it was drawing a draft and she wanted to see up close what they did. Picking up and extra five knots would give her a critical advantage. Not to mention, help her out run they royal frigates. As a woman captain, she needed every trick she could come up with. Most of the jobs that she was offered were the jobs that most of the men turned down. She wasn’t sure but it might be the fact that the last time she encountered one of the royal ships, she might have caused the sails and rigging too get unnaturally heavy with water. A small detail, but wet sails don’t catch air as well as dry ones and wet ropes are slick. She was hoping that this was not the reason she was being detained. She hoped that the queen might not remember her, even though they had never met. But she had written close to fifty letters to the royal couple asking for a chance to train at the maritime naval academy. She sat with her hands in her lap, chained even though she promised that she would not put up a fight or try to flee. She had even left her weapons back on her ship when she went on the mission. The wagon rocked and moved along. Jadia tried to relax and take in the area. She had not seen that many trees or birds in her life.
