As they came to the castle, Jaida’s mouth hung open. She had never seen a building that big before or that many people. She was shuttled from the driver to a maid who had her clean up, not an easy task when handcuffed. Then she was brought to a room to sit. The captain of the Guard who brought her was dressed in a fine uniform, she in her blue dress. A maid fussed with her hair, coming then braiding part of it from her temples to the back of her head then to the end. The maid was not gentle with the comb or the braids.

Shortly after tHis was done, the Captain’s name was called and they were shown in. WEn the Captain stopped, Jaida dropped to her knees and bowed her he’d to the floor. This was partly due to fear and partially as she did not know what to do. He approached the queen and they spoke quietly. Jaida did not move.
