They are usually an inky black color with emotionless yellow eyes and deep colors such as purples and reds decorating the bodies of some subspecies. They act on instinct seek hearts and those killed by a heartless become one of the heartless themselves. [b]Nobodies[/b]: Nobodies are creatures born from the body and soul left behind when a heart is consumed by darkness. They are inherently more powerful then the heartless as only those with a strong will can become a nobody giving them fewer numbers than the heartless. Lesser nobodies seek out the heartless in search for their own heart. Sentient Nobodies keep the memories of their life before losing their heart but lose their emotions. The heartless do not target nobodies unless ordered due to their lack of hearts. *This information is still unknown within the current world as Nobodies are a very recent occurrence. [b]Fractured[/b]: The Fractured are beings who's hearts have been overwhelmed by light and broken into pieces. A Fractured strength is determined by the size of the heart fragment they are left with. Stronger fractured generally resemble humans with very twisted features while lesser fractured begin to take on a variety of less human features. Fractured most often come in light colors, particularly white, yellow and blue. Due to their damaged hearts the Fractured, regardless of how complete their piece of the heart may be, are highly unstable in both body and mind. Their powers can be quite volatile and while a sentient fractured with a large heart fragment may retain their human form, they suffer from broken an distorted memory due to each separate piece of heart holding bits and pieces of complete memories. Finally, if a fractured sustains serious injuries they risk more fragments of their heart splitting off which in turn can weaken them. *Much of this information is still unknown[/hider] --- [u][b]The World[/b][/u] [hider=General Information]The world in this RP is one which has lost its name due to the fracturing of the worlds heart causing memories of the world in its previous state to begin to blur and fade. It is a world which has been overburdened by light and broken by the strain it caused. The world itself has been split into pieces leaving chunks of it both large and small floating separate from one another. Some of these may still be connected by things like bridges or underground tunnels but others are entirely split and seemingly unreachable. Before the Fracturing the world was a thriving one which built itself up around using light refined power plants dubbed LightWorks to then be distributed around the world. The byproduct of this process naturally would be darkness which would be directed underground to the lower reaches of the cities and towns. The world before the fracturing consisted largely of populous cities housing many levels with various districts connected by bridges up top and tunnels down below. Because of the way the darkness that was put off from the LightWorks was disposed of, the lower areas were more impoverish and dangerous while the upper areas were more rich and safe. Since the fracturing this split has since lessened but the lower areas where darkness thrives are still more blatantly dangerous. The cityscape is still in tact in many places throughout the world, however the fracturing has caused a wide variety of strange and different landscapes to appear especially in those areas which float freely. In areas more effected by the fracturing it would not be uncommon to see things like natural formations strangely twisted into man mad constructions. To the people of the world things like magic are a natural part of life and it is not uncommon for the people to learn magics not for combat purposes but for their practical applications. Keyblades however were practically unheard of due to the relative safety of the world meaning most would not know anything about them. [/hider] --- [u][b]Areas[/b][/u] [hider=Luce, The Broken Center] [b][url=http://i.imgur.com/vJRZAPv.jpg]Luce, The Broken Center:[/url][/b] Luce is the worlds largest city and served as the capitol before the fracturing. While the city is most commonly thought as cleanly divided between an upper-city and lower-city there has always been a natural subtle midpoint transition between the criminal lower-city and the lavish upper-city. After the fracturing this transition has become less and less noticeable with both the people of the world and the hostile forces moving more freely about the less populated city. Furthermore with the various areas that have become broken from the mainland the city has begun to seem less and less like a unified city due to the new likelihood of finding your childhood neighborhood connected only by a small pathway with a forest sprung up in its place. [/hider][hider=Luce, The upper-city] [b][url=http://i.imgur.com/OZfKT6Z.jpg]Luce, The upper-city:[/url][/b] The upper-city of Luce housed some of the most lavish and impressive areas the world had to offer complete with everything from vast well tended parks to high class entertainment. An area bathed in sunlight during the day and starry skies during the night with a slight warmth to the area most would find pleasant and relaxing. Yes the upper-city was the playground of the rich and well to do. Its streets kept clean and immaculate, entrances to The Blind kept only in out of the way areas with high grade security to keep the minds of its citizens at ease. Since the fracturing much of this security has dissolved with the large population loss within the world. This has allowed more heartless to emerge in the area, but the most common threat to the upper-city would be the new emergence of the fractured lurking about. The remaining citizens have begun to gather together in areas less effected by the fracturing, forming smaller 'towns' within various areas of the massive city in order to defend themselves from antagonistic forces. [/hider][hider=Luce, The lower-city] [b][url=http://i.imgur.com/9dIGMEv.jpg]Luce, The lower-city:[/url][/b] The lower reaches of Luce where the cities criminal element resides. The lower-city has many older buildings which while being just as intricate as those of the upper-city, have become more run down in many cases. The lower-city is an area which has a foggy, dimly lit atmosphere which becomes thicker the lower you go. Because of this there is often a slight chill in the air. Unlike the upper-city, the lower-city of Luce contains many entrances to The Blind which can serve as a concealed path to near anywhere in the city or its outskirts. Large gangs tend to make use of these entrances to The Blind for smuggling and all manner of illegal activities, rumor even stating that back room deals were made with upper-city researchers for high class darkness protection equipment. Because of the larger amount of entrances to The Blind the lower-city has always been an area where heartless are more common. Since the fracturing much of the goings-on within the lower-city would seem largely unchanged to its residents despite the havoc the events caused, save for the reduced population. [/hider][hider=The Lightworks District] [b][url=http://i.imgur.com/tMTkx8J.png]The Lightworks District:[/url][/b] The Lightworks District is a sprawling mass of factories and refineries located at east of Luce. While smaller refineries and power plants exist scattered about the world, this area is by far the largest source of the refined light which was used as an energy source all around the world. Before The Fracturing was directed around the world through a large complex of pipes called light conduits which were also designed to dispose of the small amounts of darkness the refined light let off. While the amount of darkness let off by the refined light distributed to the world was small, the amount let off in the refinery process by the Lightworks itself was quite large making it not uncommon for the refineries to be equipped with large reinforced runoff pipes. It was also possible to purchase a sort of large battery which could be used independently from the piping system which were mostly used for emergency backups. Since The Fracturing many of the pipelines have been broken or ceased functioning for unknown reasons and the area has become too treacherous to conduct repairs. [/hider][hider=The Blind] [b][url=http://i.imgur.com/RnXeJ3D.jpg]The Blind:[/url][/b] The Blind is the common name among the people of the world of the system of ducts and tunnels which weaves down through the lower reaches of the worlds cities which serves as the drainage system for the darkness that is let off by the light conduits and Lightworks. While these pipes were well maintained in the upper reaches of the city making them a slim danger at best, maintenance became less and less diligent the lower you went. Since the fracturing the maintenance of the pipes has begun to grow lax due to a combination of lack of personnel, the light conduits ceasing function and many of them simply being already broken by the calamity. The name “The Blind” comes from rumor that a person entering the larger pipes would have their vision entirely blotted out due to the thick darkness within. In the upper areas this was mostly a story used by parents to keep children from playing around near run off pipes but in lower areas where larger pipes are more common it was a more serious warning for the adventurous who would try to make an adventure of exploring the tunnels. Lastly, The Blind has been an area often used by the more criminal element of the world as a place to conduct their business without consequence, though not without due preparation. Mostly for the smuggling of goods to or from the upper city. [/hider][hider=The Rustroot] [b][url=http://i.imgur.com/BpcZzN5.jpg]The Rustroot:[/url][/b] The Rustroot is an area warped by the fracturing which sprouted from a forest south of Luce. During the fracturing the area was broken from the mainland save for a bridge and several of The Blind's tunnels which filtered darkness out into the area. Since the fracturing the area has become twisted and warped with machinery used within The Blind melding harshly with the plant life of the area [/hider][hider=Overlook Inn] [b][url=http://i.imgur.com/bHEMLxB.jpg]Overlook Inn:[/url][/b] Overlook Inn is the location of the former Brightwood Boarding House. When Brightwood was shut down years ago the building was bought up by opportunistic investors after the near by entrance to The Blind was taken over by the city. Before The Fracturing the area used to slop downward to a large field/park area, the entrance to the blind being a gated area with the actual entrance sitting in an alcove under the sidewalk level of the near by streets. Since The Fracturing the area has been flooded with waters which seem strangely still. [/hider][hider=Circus Falls (NEW)] [b][url=http://i.imgur.com/TmQ5koI.jpg]Circus Falls:[/url][/b] A newly formed area sprung up from a plaza near middle-city apartments and a ramp/bridge leading to the upper-city. The bridge and apartment blocks now reside next to a floating lake which laps at their edges, the two sides being connected by a large stone archway which arcs over the lake. At the center of the lake is a huge circus like tent with many ribbon like objects connecting it to the shores and many more seemingly floating with the current below the water. [/hider]
