Geralt of Rivia
Land of Adventure-> Deep Lake Lvl 2 (3/20) -> Lvl 2 (4/20) Word Count: 520 words [@Gentlemanvaultboy] [@ProPro] [@Lugubrious] [@Stern Algorithm] Geralt gave the Koopa King and his cronies a nod and a small wave as his goodbye, making sure they knew exactly what they needed to get for Mina. Wouldn't do for these new folks to ruin his good reputation, after all. He figured he'd be a bit more useful fighting actual monsters than hunting, however. It was his actual job, after all. Linkle's pit stop to see her birds was actually somewhat endearing. Apparently she would have to get them back, though. He'd see if he couldn't pull some strings about that later, actually. No reason to keep a girl from her chickens. While the group was going about the journey to the lake, Geralt decided to make sure he knew where everybody stood in terms of combat and teamwork. "All right you lot, before we actually get to the lake, I'd like to know how you fight. What you can do, how quick you can move, how well you can work together, all that. These fish-like monsters sound like Drowners, and they're a fierce fight. Known of plenty of folk who got caught by one and never came back. This is what I used to do back in my world on a daily basis. I'm a Witcher. We hunt monsters, protect folk for coin. I've got two swords. One silver, one steel. Silver's for monsters. Steel's for men and beasts." Pulling up his crossbow for a moment, he continued. "Also have this hand crossbow. Don't let the size fool you, it's got the strength of a full-size crossbow. The draw weight is too strong for a normal human to handle. Which brings me to the next point. I'm not human. Not quite. Witchers...well, we're given mutagens to enhance our natural abilities. Gives us better reflexes, stronger, quicker bodies. We heal from injuries that would kill a normal man. Even have potions that can quicken the pace. I also have some poisons, as well as the know-how on how to make more. If I have the right ingredients, I can even make small bombs. Have a few of those on me as well. Grapeshot explodes into a bunch of metal pellets. Dimeritium stops the use of magic in a small area. That one's real useful for spectres and the like." Taking a breath, Geralt shook his head. "Maybe a lot to take in. To keep it short, I'm stronger, tougher, and faster than your average man, and with the gear to boot. I can make all sorts of things to take down any monsters or beasts we come across, but only if I know what I'm dealing with. Unfortunately, a lot of the wildlife here is out of my experience, so I'll be comparing them to things I am used to dealing with. I can also track things by scent, so if we get lost, I can usually tell where we've been." A quick, appraising nod, and he finished. "That's the quick version. Any questions before we get ambushed by a bunch of fish people?" Now was the perfect time to be ambushed by fish people.
