Charlie isn't the type to be super forthcoming with information, but assuming their relationship was beyond "oh yes, I see you in the halls sometime," Charlie might mention her eyes to Alex. If Charlie sees that Alex cares THAT much about them, she might even begin to explain what having the eyes are exactly like. She isn't sure how useful that would be, but considering how little she could do, it seemed like the only thing she could really help with.
