[indent][color=gray]Xjenia Lupana Kapernov was born in the middle ring, the selection of planets that serve as the ‘breadbasket’ of the empire. Prispus, her homeworld, was mostly suited to carbon mines and fabrication depots. Those who come from Prispus are known to be particularly adventurous which is well-suited to the sea of titanic woodlands. Xjen was no different, seeking solace in exploration due to the rough life that persisted at home. Most miners on Prispus were barely above the poverty line, whether it was due to the empire’s taxes, or general lack of demand for the two major exports that came off the planet. The only way to make credits enmasse was to be in charge of the mines, factories, and the general spaceport of Szohr.  

As the daughter of a fabricator in one of the depots, Xjen often would entertain herself and trouble came following in one way or another.

Normally, backstories like Xjen’s tend to elevate to the dramatic. However, her father would not find his life ended by an imperial blaster but rather a simple accident. With barely any credits, a desire to leave Prispus, and nowhere to go, Xjen ended up picking the most logical route that was available to her: talk to an imperial recruiter and become a military cadet. Her radicalization wouldn’t come until many years later, past her training and past her employment in the empire’s division comprised of scouts and engineers. It wasn’t until a year ago that reports say that she defected and radicalized in opposition to the empire.

[indent][color=gray]Xjen was arrested on Reno, a planet in the middle ring after she was caught in the act of supporting open rebellion against an imperial magistrate. Xjen claims she is innocent—a casualty of a magistrate’s hatred and personal vendetta. The high courts on Reno did not agree and she was sentenced to ten relative years on a labor colony.
