Despite his interest in art and other cultures, he remained steadfast in the future that had been laid out to him. Of course, like many other demon hunters, his story was not one of joy and ramen. One fateful night, a brutal attack occured. His parents were slain and the family business was burnt to the ground. A distant uncle of Saburou had taken him in, but this uncle was an odd fellow. He was a demon slayer and, wanting to preserve his family's technique, taught the young Saburou everything he knew. Of course, this meant that Saburou went through hell. Still, he diligently trained without a complaint. It was what he was told to do, after all. Years had passed and Saburou had taken his uncle's trade. Saburou was a demon slayer and a fairly good one at that. Scouted by one of the previous wind pillars, he had become a tsuguko and acted his role for years. When an unfortunate battle had slain the previous pillar—another spartan teacher that crushed him with tasks—Saburou ended up being next in line. Carved a path by everyone around him, Saburou ended up becoming a pillar simply because he couldn't say no. True to its namesake, the technique specializes in fighting without stable ground; by using one's breath in order to maneuver their body and enhance their senses, those who wield the technique are able to fight on practically any surface. Because of this, the breath of the crane focuses primarily on techniques that do not require any footing. ❀ First Feather: Hawk and Sparrow ; Saburou rapidly leaps toward the enemy. Once in range, he leaps both upwards and backwards, stopping the initial momentum as he quickly slashes the enemy from above. ❀ Second Feather: Seabird's Hunt; By leaping with great speed alongside the ground, Saburou unleashes a quick slash along the opponent's legs. ❀ Third Feather: Diving Eagle; From above, Saburou unleashes a brutal flurry of slashes that uses the impact of each strike to remain airborne. ❀ Fourth Feather: Pheasant's Plumage; With a great swipe of his blade, Saburou launches a volley of wind blades that slash at distant foes. ❀ Fifth Feather: Outstretched Wings ; By using a second blade as leverage, Saburou slashes a target from two sides. ❀ Sixth Feather: Bird Call; As he's falling, Saburou spins himself into a cyclone, quickly slashing around him. ❀ Seventh Feather: Cuckoo; The only technique that requires two feet planted, Saburou swings his blade on an upwards arc, launching whatever it hits off the ground. While of simple construction, the blade's color makes it noteworthy. Rather than being a single color, the blade is iridescent. Changing from a bright teal to a subtle but rich purple depending on the angle, the blade resembles the neck of a pigeon. On his hip, he keeps a second nichirin blade, though it's never used. Broken early in his career as a demon slayer, the blade is almost identical to the first, save for the fact that it only has a third of the blade still attached to the hilt. Standing at 6'7", he towers above almost everyone. Despite his size, he remains a man with great finesse. His sense of balance trumps everything else; he could leap across the ends of poles, walk on a tight rope, and anything in between. In fact, nobody in the demon slaying corps had ever seen him fall over, so long as there wasn't a sword in his gut. However, his greatest flaw isn't of his body. No, he's simply incapable of saying no to his allies.
