The estate itself could be considered as a single building and the resultant support that building requires. It consists of two stories with a large garden in the center. The building has many purposes, mostly relating to Saburou's position as the head of income, provisions, and accountability. The top floor consists primarily of offices and Saburou's own sleeping quarters. The lower floor consists solely of storage and a single tailor and his large studio. For some demon slayers, it's the place in which they were measured and received their first uniform. For others, the tailor simply traveled to measure them. Despite being in the middle of the city, the estate could be considered by some as a fortress. Constructed out of stone and masonry, the building only has two entrances: a large staircase up to the second floor and the single entrance to the tailor's workshop. Surrounding the building is a large garden filled with various plants. While wisteria decorates and grows off of the inner, decorative fencing, flowers and trees bloom and grow in the outside garden. On the outskirts of the estate is a much smaller building: a simple wooden shack for the groundskeeper and the disciples under him to live in. The building itself is protected from outside eyes by large stone walls. Of course, the most iconic feature of the crane estate are, quite literally, two red-crowned cranes that trounce around the place with absolute impunity. In fact, they have even more rights around the estate than those he takes under his wing. The actual grounds to the complex are large, isolated within a distant two layered wall, and separated from the gates by an open expanse of grass and field. At the center is a single story building, shaped like three rectangles, one horizontally facing the path, and the others vertical, flanking and obscuring from three sides a courtyard. The most immediate section of the compound, led into by the path from the gate, acts as the living quarters for the scouts the Spirit Pillar employs as part of her job as information gatherer within the Corps, complete with all the necessities for an extended stay at the Estate. The rightmost building acts as storage for the training equipment, a minor medical center for in-house injuries, and staff quarters, while the left most houses the Spirit Pillars personal quarters, and the Spirit Estate's Information Hub, containing numerous reports sensitive documents regarding Demons, field operations, write-ups on various incidents, and investigations on potential traitors and Shingetsu members inside and outside of the Corps itself. One immediately noticeable detail to the Spirit Pillar Estate is its sheer sparsity: the estate, and the grounds leading from the walls to the complex itself, have effectively no decoration or features. Closer to the center, in the courtyard surrounded by the buildings, there are a few decor choices - a pond, Wisteria blossoms - but for all intents and purposes, the compound remains bland. The benefit to this lies in the sheer openness of the fields surrounding the buildings, ensuring that anybody, Demon or otherwise, attempting to sneak their way into the Estate, has nowhere to hide from the prying eyes of the Demon Slayers within - leading to rumours that this was a design decision made by the Spirit Pillar herself. In addition, the Estate has a severe rule heavily enforced by those that operate within. Nothing, and no one, is allowed to enter or leave the Estate, without the express permission of the Spirit Pillar herself.[/sup]
[@Yankee]
[sup]A little ways away from civilization, but not exactly hidden, The Estate of the Love Pillar is a sprawling complex made up of several loosely connected Japanese-style buildings and surrounded by a high stone wall. The land itself was a generous gift from the Ubuyashiki, and the structures paid for by donations from families the Corps have saved as well as Maria herself. Upon entering the estate grounds, the first thing one would notice is a small building sitting much closer to the gate than the rest of the buildings, as well as a European-style church house standing just beside it. The smaller building is for receiving guests, and most don't make it past this point - because besides the few dormitories where clergy and members serving directly under the Love Pillar stay, the rest of the facility is dedicated to the healing, recovery, and rehabilitation of demon slayers. Demon slaying was a dangerous job, injury and death were far from foreign to those taking up the cause. For physically wounded Corps members wishing to return to the fight, they were sent here to the Love Pillar's estate (simply called the Itoshi Estate by some) to recuperate. For those suffering from the horrors they'd experienced during battle, priests and trained civilian members of the Corps offered therapy. For the men and women unable to return to battle, there were dedicated people to help them reintegrate into civilian life - and this formerly small branch of the estate has grown much larger since the defeat of Kibutsuji Muzan. Though the estate is primarily for use by Corps members, it is not unheard of for them to take in civilian patients as well, though those cases are rare. Wandering pedestrian eyes that may come upon the estate are herded off by members of the Catholic church, keeping a smokescreen that the estate is one large religious complex as not to draw the ire of any enemies of the Corps looking to destroy their healing facility. The church house is not just for show however, it is a full functioning holy grounds with an altar lamp and ambry. The church hosts weekly prayer on the traditional Day of Rest that welcomes both Corps members and civilians, though preachers stick firmly to Biblical teachings on those days in mixed company. Rosary dosed in wisteria are given away to those in need of them. Maria's own living quarters are the furthest away from the gates: a modest home of a more modern Japanese look. There is a similar looking guest house for those of importance nearby but not connected to her home. Significant members of the Love Pillar's squad also have a private dormitory away from the clergy and estate care takers. This dormitory is smaller overall and closer to the entrance for quick deployment should the need arise. These private dorms are for slayers only, unrelated to estate staff though these slayers do often volunteer their help. Even the chief doctor and head priest stay in the public dorms when on site.[/sup]
[sup][@Aviaire] The Sea Pillar’s Estate is a series of small buildings located on a secluded area of the coast. One for Kikumi to live in, and several for her students and whoever else is unlucky enough to be there to sleep, eat or otherwise in. They are far enough from the sea that it doesn’t reach them at high tide, but close enough that the sound of the waves can keep her students awake at night. There are training rooms, but the beach is usually used to train on instead. The rooms are only really used due to special circumstances. There is a small medical area to take care of anyone who gets badly injured, or just can’t handle the training well. It’s nearly always full. [/sup]
