[@Vampiretwilight] We really didn't have much of a well put together starting point. I described 'dusty hills' and 'flat badlands' in my post yet Karamon found my character after describing a forest. We didn't start close to each other and now we are paying for it. Here are my suggestions for what may be a good idea for you:

1. have your character decide to go on a walk/break and encounter us
2. have your character out looking for pokemon and encounter us
3. Wait for us to get to a gym and say it is your own
