[@Zoey White][@Slim Shady][@Athol][@Vaeltaja][@Heretic] So I’ve been pondering the route we’re going to take with the escape, and I’d like to present possible options of refuge to everyone so we can decide where we shall flee to from the resort hotel. I’ve provided some listings/options and explanations below. Opinions please! Moresby: Mikes’ suggestion. The “capital” city of Moresby, your cliche tin shanty and brick apartment third world city with a ten percent wealthy populace. (OOC) I’m going to spoiler here and say that Moresby is totally overrun. The crowded streets and alleys are swarming with the undead of all varieties, and the refugee centers have all fallen. The city is divided between honest survivors and the “Raskols”, street gangs who have seized the police station and a local armory and are fighting over resources while keeping the undead at bay. Very few “safe zones” exist and even those are under constant attack by the undead. In other words, it will be survival of the fittest if we go to Moresby. Even if we find a suitable safe house for our group, the undead will be constantly knocking at our doors (literally) and we will have not a moment of piece. Player character deaths at some point are guaranteed. The Beach Resort: The beach and the bungalows are as Mike said overrun, but not nearly as bad as Moresby. In truth, many of the resort bungalows can easily be fortified and used as ample safe houses. And then of course there’s the “Lighthouse Group”. The lighthouse near the resort is occupied by a group of survivors, a good ten or twelve people. While this would be dabbling in canon material, the lighthouse and it’s survivors are extremely secondary, and none of them are major characters, therefore I have no qualms about tinkering with them. There is also a gas station that could be secured, and then best of all; there’s the deserted island off the coast, within earshot of the beach. (Seriously, our characters could all swim over to it if they had to.) Most likely it was a “party island”, where bonfires roared and drunken tourists in bathing suits danced around portable radios on beach blankets. The drawback is supplies are very scarce around this area, especially food and weapons (i.e firearms and ammunition). Our characters would have to regularly leave the island to scavenge for food and other base supplies at the hotel and we would occasionally have to travel to Moresby. So, to summarize... If we go into Moresby; It would be a constant fight against the undead and the Raskols, however supplies would be easy to come by, from food and water to weapons. There are also several different groups of survivors we could join or coincide with. I’m exaggerating a bit when I said there would be no safe haven at all. We could easily seize an fortify an apartment or a warehouse. Again though, we would have to endure constant attacks. It would be strictly survival. Nothing else. If we make a break for the beach resort; If we make a break for the beach, options are more diverse. We could pool ourselves in with the Lighthouse group, who are making plans to escape and assembling resources from food to flares. They even have a radio and long range transmitter. Or, we could make a break for the beach and then hop over to the island. Here, we would be able to stockpile supplies in peace and would have a safe haven from the undead hordes. We could also regularly mount supply runs along the coastline as well as into Moresby if we needed to and would have a place to bring anyone we rescued. There are also numerous bungalows and cabins along the road that leads through the resort that we could easily hold up in. As well as various other structures. In truth, I’m personally leading toward the island, at least that’s where Carter is going to insist we go. (Mike will present a map in my next post or two.) I’ll take this moment to state that it’s not mandatory we travel as a group. This is a fairly free range RP when it comes to character decisions and choices. What do you guys think? I’m also up for suggestions and advice!
