Not for the color, of which they are a dark brown-green, but for the quiet sadness emanating from them. It can unnerve even the most hardened of mercenaries, to quite visibly see something desolate or lost in his eyes. Evidence of an unkind life have aged him beyond his 37 years, and have forced wrinkles on his forehead, and grey in his thick wine-brown hair. He has large, capable hands filled with callouses from constantly working on machinery. His hands, much like the man himself, can be deceptively strong. While only of average height, and with the barest hint of muscle tone, he seems to occupy a large presence. That could be due in part to the large, bulky coats he wears, or his scruffy beard and various scars scattered in every visible area, or even the impression he gives that there is more to him than might meet the eye. His general lack of awareness of himself, and his clothing almost seems deliberate. With no routine set into place, his clothing choices, level of facial hair, and tidiness seem to change on a random basis. For the most part he dresses in soft cotton shirts, and pants with a bulky coat that seem to hold an innumerable amount of objects that he pulls out as, and when he needs. Most of his clothing is peppered with tiny rips, and cuts that he barely notices, and, even more rarely, fixes. [color=8B0000]// P E R S O N A L I T Y \\[/color] Marion spends most of his time in his lab, with his brother-turned-biobot. When he does interact with people they find a wry, intelligent, and observant man. Occasionally funny, purposefully pre-occupied, and constantly on guard, Marion hides behind a carefully constructed wall. Most of the crew, even those he might tentatively call his friends, interact with him superficially. In fact, they know more about, and talk more with Jason rather than Marion himself. And even then the details of how Marion’s brother Jason came to become a robot are virtually unknown. If, however, anyone would get past his iron-clad wall they would find a genuine, and extremely loyal person. While sensitive Marion has learnt, or been forced, to become a harder version of himself. He places great weight on people’s capabilities, and once others have proved worthy of his respect he is willing to listen to, if not always follow, them. And in direct opposition to his reputation, and job Marion craves talking to people but due to his past has virtually isolated himself from the rest of the world. As Marion has very little in his life beside his work he is extremely passionate about his projects. He can often get disconnected from the rest of the world when chasing an idea or perfecting a prototype. He is liable to miss briefings, and meal-times or forget information beyond his own projects. However, with his machines or talking about his various projects Marion is quietly confident, fully engaged, and at ease. [color=8B0000]// H I S T O R Y \\[/color] Most of Marion’s early memories of his parents involved a blurry imprint of them. A dark-haired couple with too wide smiles, and strained eyes. But the majority of Marion’s memories are dominated by his little, straw-haired brother with the same too wide grin. If pressed Marion might admit that his parents passed away from one illness or another, the type that always seems to hang around the poorer neighbourhoods. The only practical memory he has left of them were in his deft hands that seemed to have an innate knowledge of machinery. It was this skill that allowed Marion, and his five-year-old brother, to find accommodation at one of the biggest, and most profitable robot fighting rings, All Star Robots. And in the desolate city of Ulsar, All Star Robots (ASR) was everything. So even if Marion was paid crumbs, he made enough to get his brother food. His skill in repairing, upgrading, and improving ensured that the organizers gave Marion, and by extension his brother, a home- though they never let slip how impressive his skill was for one so young. However one day, everything changed. While on a repairing job for one of All Star’s prized robots Jason was taken. To this day, the feeling of coming back into their cramped corner in a disused part of the All Star’s building, and finding his brother gone, and the room trashed sends a lance of pain straight through his gut. He remembers a frantic search that lasted for over two weeks, and finding no trace of his 15 year old brother. Most of that period is left a haze in his memory, the only clear picture were the insincere reassurances from the ASR execs. That and how grateful, utterly grateful, he had been for the help they had given him. The help that tasted of ash once he had found out that they had taken his brother. He’d found out accidently, as he was pacing in the robotics development building. Since he’d lost his brother he’d either spent time searching the streets of dusty, barren Ulsar or cloistered in the robotics wing of the building trying, and failing, to work on new machinery. Now aged 20 Marion had graduated from working minor repairs on the robots to help upgrade, and develop better technology. And that’s where he was when he overheard a gaggle of scientists at 3 am, in an otherwise abandoned building, start talking shop. To this day he had no idea why he decided to listen to or what alerted him to their conversation but he heard about the test-runs they were running on bio-robots. How they fused human brains, existing AI technology, and mechanical robots in an attempt to create a smarter, more adaptive robot. In mounting horror Marion heard them talk dispassionately about how many of their test subjects expired, and Suffice to say Marion had broken in, and found his brother. Or what was left of him. His brain, and voice box had been transferred onto the robotic neural networks, and had done what cybernetics on his planet was still unable to replicate- a genuine, independent robot. A robot that had memories of a life, and a body made of flesh. His brother. But they hadn’t gotten it to fully work. Somehow or another Marion had gotten out of there, but not before taking all their files, research, and his brother. For a while Marion worked tirelessly to bring his brother back, to work at making him human again. But with experimental science, there was very rarely an easy fix. So instead he turned tried to complete ASR’s work, and ending up going beyond even their capabilities. And with his brother’s help, Marion turned his attention to bringing ASR down. Unfortunately for Marion, this was not easily overlooked. ASR started contracting hits or sending countless teams after him, in an attempt to kill Marion but Marion evaded them all. And just as he’d promised, he started bringing them down. By the time ASR has contacted Falchion to kill Marion, he’d almost completely ruined the company. They were blacklisted by everyone, and had lost all of their monopoly, and power. But Falchion caught him, hiding in a damp building, with only a trace of his brother encased in metal. So when Falchion had come to finally kill him, they’d found a man who’d become a ghost, and who’d been turned almost into folklore, but with nothing to live for, and no fight left in him. He had become not only known for bringing down the largest, and most powerful robot fighting company but also for his skill in building anything mechanical or metal. But after he brought down ASR, he was done. To this day Marion had no idea why the Captain hadn’t killed him, and instead had offered him a job on the crew. But she had, and now here he was, five years on. [color=8B0000]// W E A P O N S & E Q U I P M E N T \\[/color] [b][u]Jason: [/u][/b]Jason isn’t a weapon nor part Marion’s equipment but due to his mostly robotic state, and his ability to control all of Marion’s equipment, Jason is one of the strongest, and most powerful tools in Marion’s arsenal. He is a biobot with a human brain that is paired with an AI system. Retaining all his memories from when he was a young boy, in addition to his voice box, Jason is a disconcerting mix between human, and robot. He is permanently the age of 15, and sounds 15, but combines with an AI system has vastly superior intelligence and abilities than a normal human. He is contained in a tiny, metal cigar-case size box that is mainly plugged into an outlet into the lab which allows his complete control over the lab plus some limited access to Lucifer’s Left Nut. He does have a more mobile form, but it’s very limited in ability, and something Marion is still working on. For now, in more out-of-ship-missions Jason is plugged into Marion’s suit. [b][u]Combat Suit: [/u][/b]Marion has designed two suits that primarily feature in missions. These two vary based on the specifications needed for each job, with one being more for light duty, and the other for heavy duty missions. He is able to modify the suits prior to each mission or- in a pinch- during a mission, in order to better withstand different planet’s environments or different enemies. At its base the lighter suit, which he calls LUCE, is made of overlapping light graphene-titanium armour plates. It stops most firearms, provides vacuum-sufficient life support, temperature controls and some minor storage. The helmet has both x-ray, and tracking vision as well as being integrated with Jason. The heavier suit is an exo-skeletan powered suit with titanium nitrate, with localized control circuits to mimic human movement. (It’s basically Iron Man’s suit. :/) [b][u]Other Projects: [/u][/b] Marion is constantly working on, and improving his various projects. Some are for himself, and others are for the rest of the crew. [color=8B0000]// S P E C I A L T Y \\[/color] He can turn his hand at anything mechanical, and metal although in a more official capacity he is the Engineer and Weapon’s designer, and occasional ship mechanic, aboard the Falchion. [color=8B0000]// O T H E R \\[/color] His weakness is that he’s only human. Without his suit, he’s susceptible to any hostile environments, and weapons. [/hider] Hey so I finally finished my CS.
