The Jakai are a race of insect beastfolk that call the Southlands home alongside the (Insert human ethnicity here). The Jakai are Matriarchal society centering around the leadership of the Warren Mothers. Jakai Warrens are settlements that comprise of a lone large Castle-like structure made out of clay, earth and logs. Underneath these fortresses is a small network of tunnels where most of the Jakai reside. Culturally the Jakai are a cautious people, many not daring to venture beyond the Warren alone, however in recent decades many more Jakai have overcome this ingrained fear and have become more adventurous. Many willingly join the Imperial Auxiliary Corps, others that activity resist the Empire had often found themselves in the free Grovelands with like-minded people. The Mashadi are a patriarchal society split between a dozen tribes under the leadership of the Tribal Elders. Due to their past of piracy, Mashadi are looked upon with distrust within the Empire, but regardless, their skills in sailing and navigation are a vital asset to the Imperial Navy. Grovelander(Human) In the long string of wars with the ever-defiant Grovelands, the Empire had managed to make small gains, and successfully conquered a small part of the Grovelands. Grovelanders are renowned for their care-free lifestyle and easy-going outlook, however, Grovelanders on the Dathanari side of the border have proven to be a great nuisance to Imperial patrols and garrisons, often engaging in skirmishes or petty acts of defiance, Imperial Grovelanders will not rest until they reunited with their free brethren. Goblin Native to the Grovelander woodlands, a few isolated goblin camps had settled in parts of the Grovelands that would fall under Imperial control, and for a short while the Goblins had mostly kept themselves, trading with communicating with their fellow Grovelanders. However, once the Imperial Garrison arrived, erecting their fortress using the woodlands as their primary resource, the goblins were all too wiling to assist the Grovelanders in harassing the local garrison. However there exists elite formations within select legions made up of the Elven Evocati. The Evocati are noble-born warriors often held in reserve by Legion Commanders, sent into combat he sees fit or is the situation proves dire enough.
