She had never seen a dragon before but that was unmistakably what the magnificent green form floating in front of them was. Even the fish men had seemed to stop their advance momentarily at the appearance of a monster that was higher on the totem pole than them. She was so enthralled that, were the thing not as loud as Bowser, she might not have heard its order. Linkle quickly looked around for something to steady herself with, but unfortunately for her the bridge they were on was quite sturdy and void of any cracks that she could dig her fingers into to get a grip. She saw the other boy drive his sword into the bridge itself and plant himself squarely in place. He obviously knew what his partner had planned, but Linkle doubted she could get the same effect by burying bolts in the wood and holding onto them. Without any other apparent option and ran up behind the boy and threw her arms around him, crossing her bows over his chest and gripping tight. Not a moment later it was as though they were being assaulted by the fury of Faora herself. The wind blasted over them, causing linkles cloak to flutter like a rag behind her and nearly lifting her off her feet. Had she not had the favor of that self-same goddess of wind it might have, surly. After the moment, though, the gale subsided and Linkle was able to lift her head up. As to be expected, most of the monsters hadn't been intelligent or fast enough to realize what was about to happen and had been totally swept from the bridge. She laughed as she pulled herself off the blue boy, but realized they'd have to act fast. They had an opportunity to retreat onto solid ground, but with the fish men still in the water they didn't have long. They had to get Mr. Spikey. At least, that would have been the priority, had the dragon not suddenly disintegrated over the water leaving its boy to plunge toward the depths and the horrors lurking below. Linkles mind began to work fast as she watched him fall. There had to be something she could do, right? She racked her brain. Arrows were not powerful enough to push him, the bounce might but that wasn't reliable. If only she had a hookshot! Wait, maybe if she could get the guy next to her to team jump her out there she could get him and they'd fly just close enough to shore to-
"Linkle. Do not, under any circumstance, do that again..."
She stopped just as she was about to put that incredibly bad plan into motion.
"Be more careful, OK? If not for yourself, then for others. You can't expect to help anyone with a... well, you get the picture."
Right. She'd made a promise, hadn't she? About the only thing that would happen even if she pulled that off was getting herself killed, and leaving everybody else to fight these things with one less person. With what she knew she could, there wasn't much of anything she could do for the dragon boy. Then again, though, she wasn't the only one here. "DIN!" she called out, picturing in her head those wings the girl had gotten from the mechanical bird. Din could do it, Linkle knew she could. "Grab him!" The words were barely out of her mouth when another sound cracked though the area. Linkle turned to see a metal fist burst up through the ice around the floating house. A bulbous, bulgy eyed, dripping mas pulled itself up onto the walkway around the house, half muscles and half writhing tentacles, to menace the spiky haired man once more. She grit her teeth, levered her bows and fired off a pair of bombs at what had to be the boss of these fish men. Take him out and the others might scatter and retreat.
