Her clothing is often wrinkled or stained by grease, if otherwise as clean as one could expect a soldier in her situation to be. While her natural beauty is undeniable, it is also clear her stressful past weighs on her, her skin paler than a normal Twi'lek's, and her lekku worryingly thin. Bags under eyes make it look as if she is constantly in need of a nap, though her eyes are bright and alert.
Background
Zed'kije never knew a time where her home planet did not have a foriegn power. Born shortly before the end of the Clone Wars, she's only known the Empire, she grew up in her parent's workshop, watching and eventually helping him maintain a variety of drones and other computeriszed systems. Taking after her parents, she soon prooved a natural tinkerer and programmer. For years her family did their best to keep their head as the Free Ryloth movment and the Empire clashed. The failed attempt on Palpatine and Vader's life; the stationing and later hijacking of a Qusar carrier-cruiser; and simple strengthening of the Rebel Alliance all led to escalations of the Imperial crackdowns However it was events on the far side of the known Galaxy that shattered the delicate status quo of Zed's life. The sudden destruction of Alderaan and equally stunning destruction of the Death Star at Yavin the led to ISB agent Thallia Dhruv arresting her family in a wider sweep for Rebel sympathisers, betrayed by confessions from captured Free Ryloth fighters. Zed begged Dhruv for clememncy, but as clear Rebel supporters her family would be exectured with almost no delay. However Zed struck up a deal with Dhruv: She would serve the agent, in any capacity she could, for her Family's life. Recognizing an asset when she saw one, Dhruv accepted. And so started Zed's servitude, comforted by the knowledge that her family was still alive. Several years passed. Dhruv kept her end of the deal up, passing along a weekly correspondance from Zed's parents. And Zed kept up her end of the deal, acting as Dhruv's servant and personal slicer. Extracting records from drones, cracking Rebel encryption, and spying on other Imperials (among other tasks) meant that dozens of people were damnned to the mechanations of the ISB apparatus. But at least the letters came. Dragged from one end of the Galaxy and back over and over, the letters from home arrived like clockwork, detailing her family's lives as slaves at the Yaga Minor shipyards. When the Emperor died, Zed was left in a state of uncertainty. Dhruv was being trasnfered to the Dynali sector, and shortly after they arrived at Ord Thoden, Zed learned of a failed slave uprising on the station, with the local comander violently cracking down. Zed feared the worst, and she worked up the nerve to hack into Dhruv's datapad. To her horror, she learned that her parents had in fact died, back on Ryloth, shortly after Zed left. Dhruv had not kept her end of the bargain up, writing out each and every letter that they sent. Inscensed, she realized that she couldn't leave then and there. She would need to find an oppurtunity to leave. One soon presented itself. As Imperial control crumbled, Dhruv was increacingly called upon to work on the front line, keeping what few bastions of order were left. Soon enough, local Imperial control was left to a few city blocks around the local base, and Dhruv was ordered to board the local Star Destroyer. Knowing that this would be the last good chance she would have, she had already reached out to the Rebels on the planet, aggreeing to use her ability to access Imperial files to assure her safe passage. Zed was taken by surprise by Dhruv, who had caught wind of her plans at the last moment. Fighting with ferocity that surprised even her, she managed to wrestle Dhruv's blaster pistol away and shot her in the chest. Grabbing her meager belongings, she fled, leaving Dhruv on the floor of her office. She ran into the city until she could make contact with the Rebels. She rather than simply accepting that she could rest easily, she turned around and used her knowledge of the local garrison to help drive it out of the city. Recruited on the battlefield, she soon signed up with the Scarlet Moon as a private, and has been fighting ever since
Outlook and Motivation
Spite and Regret. These two factors drive Zed. Had she known that her family were going to be killed either way, she would've chosen to die alongside them. Now, in her mind, she has blood on her hands. She knows exactly what the Empire did to the being she helped expose. Sometimes she could hear them screaming in the interrogation chambers. Sometimes she saw them being exectured in side alleys. All of them were there because she fed the ISB the information. Now, she wants to see the ISB and everything it stood for to burn, and hopefully make up for her past sins. Additionally, being an alien in a notoriously xenophobic originization meant having to be able to diffuse and deflect situations. Slicing: Zed has a lifetime of slicing under her belt, with practical experience with military encryption. SHe can get into almost any system given enough time. Technician: Zed grew up handing her parents tools and helping them repair all manner of devices, from droids to speeders. She is good with maintaining and repairing machines, especially electronics
Flaws
Dogmatic: Zed has a chip on her shoulder. An Empire sized chip. She has a hard time holding back, and can often become single minded when dealing with them, much to her detriment. "Traitor": The fact that Zed still uses plenty of classically Imperial equipment, her past helping the ISB, and the conviently unveriviable story of her 'escape', is enough to leave many distrustful of her actual loyalties.
