Does this character concept work?
Name: Chatel Gevaudan Age: 16 Race: Beast-kin (wolf/chimera) Gender: Female Appearance: She is a short thin girl, brown hair with wolf ears and a wolf tail. She wears a coat that only makes her look more scrawny, and has a default facial expression that looks like that of a cornered animal. Talent: With her enhanced senses, she is naturally attracted to spells that bring them ever further, going along with shapeshifting or body attached spells to give her the agility to make use of her senses. History: Unlike most beast-kin, she was not born one, instead, she was born a human. Her family was large and very demanding, Chatel would spend most of her time working for the house, always in fear of abuse if she failed. Somehow things would become worse than being stuck in prison-like room and forced to work all days, when the family could not make ends meet and agreed to sell Chatel to a mage in exchane of money. The mage wanted nothing but test subjects to try to recreate the spells that made beast-kin in the first place. To most subjects it didn't work, but Chatel was the lucky one who was a 'success'. It didn't stop the experiments from being run, her body still being used for tests so the mage could get better results on other people. Eventually, though, the mage was discovered and fell in a fight, however, the people who took down the mage had no interest in helping the subjects, instead just wanting to 'terminate' them. Chatel was a lucky one who escaped, but she was no longer accepted in the human world, forced to live in the shadows and off scraps until she managed to escape to the neutral zone. It was in there that she discovered about the dragon, she doesn't even know why she is seeking him. The power to regain her humanity? The power to enact revenge? To protect herself and others? She doesn't know, but its the only lead forward she has, the only light that seems to guide her somewhere that isn't the living hell she has been through.
