[@Letter Bee] your going to need to change that, no Dues ex machina style magic stuff man. There is various types of magics and style of magic. Talent is basically just something that gives them an advantage in learning and using what they are talented in. Examples: Battle Magic Style - essentially close combat magic, using magic to do things like coat your hands in fire as you punch your enemy and so on. Necromancy - undead type magic focused around manipulating the bodies of the dead from simply manipulating the bones of the deceased to raising their body as a mindless machine. Holy Magic - magic able to bless people with enchancements or protections against unholy magic and curses. Everyday Life magic - normally consisting of ways to clean your homes, fix small things, etc.. Talent just dictates their compatibility that is all. a character can choose to learn all 7+ of the elemental magics and use them when they get the hang of it while having the talent for simple cleaning magic. also none of the three human nations would even dare try to attack anyone on the neutral zone because this is where most of the oldest mages live and they all understand the power of some of the most ancient of these people. also don't go making any gods like that, I haven't state how any of the pantheon is for a specific reason that might get revealed later we will see. [@CelesteEste] Talent is just their compatibility to a type of magic or style of magic it wont affect what the character can and will learn. it just determines how quickly the character will be able to use a specific magic type vs the others. You have wrote it like it's what the character wants to learn instead of what they are naturally better at. the story is.. interesting to say the least. mages trying to copy the mages of old is indeed something that could happen, and that could prove to be a very interesting story point later. though you didn't say were she was originally from. which I'll say the Dynasty which I forgot to speak about directly they would discriminate but they wouldn't enslave/kill. after all most humans in power fear what they can't understand. which is why those in the neutral zone can live so peacefully because they face the unknown on a day to day basis and have learned it isn't something to fear. after all the neutral zone is crawling with monsters and other things thanks to the countless magic users that live there.
