[indent]Adrielle is quite the social person especially with her charismatic nature. She will strike up a conversation with just about anyone, even if it is to distract them from the person behind them picking their pockets. She is a selfish person unless it comes to her crew. She will do whatever she can to protect them, even if it means turning herself in to save them. She’ll try anything else before she resorts to that, however. Deep down she has a kindness to her, but only the people closest to her ever really see that. Most days she is seen as rather ruthless.

She falls right in the middle of the spectrum of being ill-tempered and calm. When it comes to battle, Adrielle will keep her calm. When someone threatens the people closest to her, however, she may very well lose her temper. When it comes to patience she has quite a bit of that. If she needs to, though, she will take swift action. She isn’t afraid to take the cowardly route on occasion if it means preserving her life and the lives of her crew. Unfortunately, her first instinct, a lot of the time is to lie and deceive others. It’s just something that comes natural to her and she has a hard time deciding when not to do so.

Adrielle has a rather cunning mind, enjoying the thrill of making plans of attack. She’s naturally charismatic and because of this she does well at manipulating people. She’s so used to manipulating people, however, she has very few actual friends that she trusts. She does know when to laugh and joke, however her sense of humor often tends to be dark. She thinks she is completely sane, however, if you look closely there may be a small spark of insanity there. It’s what allows her to take risks. While she tends to be rather energetic, she often overdoes it and has to spend a day in bed every few days. When this happens she leaves her first mate, Malek, in charge of the ship.[/indent]

Adrielle’s childhood seems to be a mystery to all and if you ever ask her about it you’ll always get a different story. One time you ask her she may tell you that she was an orphaned girl in the capital of Whiteashe who took the first opportunity to get away on a ship. The next time she’ll tell you that she was raised by a small family of humans on the island of Ostwyn. Either way it’s very clear that she doesn’t like talking about where she originated from.

What she will tell people, however, is that piracy has been a part of the vast majority of her life. She set off sailing on a pirate ship when she was twelve years old. Her small stature proved to be useful to the crew as she could get in small places others couldn’t. She also was used as a cabin boy, helping the cook with the food, cleaning up afterwards, carrying the bucket to swab the deck, anything they asked for she did. As she grew she watched others closely, helping where she could, and learning all she could.

She bounced around ships for the first four years of her pirating career until she landed on the Mermaid’s Fortune. Still one of the youngest on the ship, she was still used for the dirty work. The captain, Captain Farley Atherton, ended up having a soft spot for young Adrielle and soon started training her in other things. He taught her how to fight, sail, navigate the stars, and everything else it takes to run a ship. 

She worked her way up to being a gunner for a time until the first mate died. That’s when Captain Atherton named her as his first mate and informed all that she would take over when he died. She was merely nineteen at the time this happened and not a year later the captain died in battle. At twenty years old she became captain of the Mermaid’s Fortune and has been fighting to keep that position ever since as there are some who oppose her. She was quick to name her best friend and loyal companion, Malek Silverblood, as her first mate and they have successfully been running the ship together for the last seven years.
