Eliezer sighed in frustration when Allister repeated the reason he had only just mentioned that he would no longer accept. "Lady Omrea is currently under the protection of her companions, Allister. As for myself, what would be the point of keeping an eye on me if I were to lose my right to the throne? If that were to be the case, then I might as well be dead." He did note that what he had just said might have sounded like his sentiments about the throne of Dainia were similar to Raven's about his love. This was not the case. If it was no longer his purpose to rule Dainia, he could always find another to live for. However, this was not about him, but his people, and the only way to prevent Mathazar from having the right to Dainia was for him to keep it. He decided that he should clarify this, and he took a glance at Raven before continuing to address Allister. "This has nothing to do with my self-worth, or what I have to live for, it has to do with the fates of thousands. If I don't inherit the throne, my brother will. Pray be cautious when making these decisions, Allister, this is all I ask." When Raven started to question the butler about her family, Eliezer then remembered his first conversation about her with Allister, and turned back to Raven. "I am familiar with Lunarian aesthetics. I was therefore aware that you have descended from a noble house of Lunar after you had shown me that heirloom you bear. I recall Allister declining to tell me about your family when I first inquired about them. Perhaps now is the time for him to do so." At that moment, there came a knock on the door followed by a voice on the other side. "Your Highness, Sir Hildebrand, Dame Gertrude Monday bringing a matter of great importance to your attention." "I shall have to ask that you return at a later time, Dame Gertrude," Eliezer called through the door. "Forgive me, Your Highness, but this is urgent. The rest of the royal family has already been alerted," came the reply. Eliezer and Hildebrand shared a quick glance, and the former opened the door, after which the other knight immediately started to speak. "Your Highness, our guards have witnessed the death of an individual just East of Dainia Palace. Those responsible fled the moment they saw our guards, but what is strange is that this was found on the dead body." Gertrude held out a dagger with the Lunarian crest on it. Hildebrand was stunned. "A Lunarian assassin was killed by an unknown party near the palace? This is strange indeed." "Guards have been sent to investigate the area. In the meantime, His Highness and Sir Hildebrand have been summoned for an emergency meeting regarding the meaning of this occurrence and to discuss the steps to be taken," Gertrude continued. "Very well, thank you, Dame Gertrude," Eliezer responded, before the female knight went on her way. Before he and Hildebrand walked out, the prince turned to his butler with a few more words. "If this unidentified group does not kill off the rest of the assassins you have released, you can be certain that our guards shall do their best to do so by order of my family."
