Every action is emphasized and overblown, each movement acting in concert to punctuate his speech. Black hair runs across his face, framing a single violet eye staring out from a plane of pale skin, unmarred by any facial hair or scars.
Personality Traits:

Boisterous
Ostentatious
Theatrical
Self-Assured

Biography:
Child to both Adam Brache and Charlotte Brache (nee. Zobrist), he was brought up within the Imperial Palace as a servant. His time growing up serving the imperial family was bereft of any major incident save for one, which, if he is to be believed, is the cause for his wearing of an eyepatch and the subsequent departure of the Brache family from the estate within the following months. Regardless, he looks back at the time he spent as a lowly servant boy with complicated feelings. As time passed, he became enamored with military matters, and actively pursued a career within the Imperial Navy. While they were not lacking in finances, Bernard took to the independence granted to him in becoming an adult. Enrolling in Deimos down the Naval Officer track, he excelled in the tasks assigned to him. Uncomfortable with depending on his family for financial assistance, he soon went out to acquire his own funds to further increase his own autonomy. Thus, he set out to find his fortune within the cards. Quickly becoming a menace to less than legal gambling houses along with overconfident nobles, Bernard was near-unanimously banned, suspected of using less than fair means to win in games of chance, and out of frustration from his own tactical acumen in games without. Of course, they were never able to provide any evidence of his wrongdoing, but many tables were often cleaned out if they were foolish enough to accept him at there tables. Nevertheless, over time he amassed riches, far more then what he required to pay for his continued tuition upon Deimos. Even with the occasional ostentatious show of wealth, Bernard had with him enough funds to comfortably live a life of leisure. But still, he stuck to his path and graduated from Deimos as a naval officer of the Vern Empire, a rising star among the great military might of the empire.
Skills and Abilities

Refined Human: While not enhanced to the level of nobility, Bernard carries with him standard genetic modifications of the Vern Empire. Simple treatments meant to help stave off the various malaise of the world and to provide a small boost in physical parameters.
Genius Intellect: A genius of great magnitude. While not a true renaissance man, as long as he pours his talents and focuses on a subject, he would be able to show a degree of proficiency within it. His considerable intellect, however, is mainly aimed at military matters and that of theatrical works.
Showmanship: Dazzling clothes and bombastic words to charm, entertain, or punctuate whatever subject Bernard chooses to focus on. A combination of multiple disciplines, from sleight of hand to oration all masterfully blended together to bolster his own natural charisma and to skillfully draw attention away from things he may want hidden.

Personal Items and Equipment

Black and Silver Eyepatch: An embroidered eyepatch decorated with a single dark purple ornament. He could hardly be seen without it.
Standard Officer Armaments: Bernard’s past has instilled within him a sense of propriety, and can rarely be seen without his sidearm or saber. If he could, he would wear his ceremonial garb everywhere regardless of practicality.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Despite his ability to adapt, Bernard is somewhat rigid in his methodologies. His love of showmanship is mirrored in his tactics and strategies, utilizing large showy forces to cover for more mission-critical forces he hides in his plans. A schemer at heart, he excels in utilizing small specialized forces to accomplish mission parameters, but as a result, has atrophied in utilizing larger forces to the best of their abilities. That is not to say he could not effectively command such a force, but his biggest disadvantage is the time required to fully dedicate himself to switching over to such a role. Besides his own specialties, Bernard is also foremost a commander, not a combatant. His strengths lie in planning and leading from the back. As such, his own skills in piloting, while respectable, are rather meager in comparison. Both to satiate his own desire for flashiness and also for some degree of extra protection.
