Not only was it reflected in her life but also in her room; clothes were thrown everywhere not knowing whether one garb was clean or not. Most of the time she had to smell them to figure it out. Books and other possessions were misplaced, scattered about. To be honest she never had a room before. She had always carried enough just to get by and keep moving at the turn of a dime. If there was one thing she did keep orderly, it was her desk space she had reserved solely for her guns and their routine upkeep. While the others were probably sitting idly by or attending to their own hobbies, Blaire was deep in concentration as she dissembled both her pistols to properly clean. A series of pops escaped her joints from her neck, back, and hands in preparation. But before she could start, she needed her music, now one would come to expect the riotous gunslinger to be fond of something jarring like metal, yet once she hit play the beautifully sung Lakme by the flower duet washed over the room in a calming wave. First was attaching the slide and barrel followed by the barrel bushing then turning it. The insertion of the recoil spring and guide with the receiver following suite. Placing the slide stop and aligning, snap, pressing up and in of the notch. And so on and so forth until the final step of placing the magazine inside. Unfortunately, the ultimate satisfaction was stripped away from her with her music cutting short in order to broadcast the captain’s message. Had it not been for the alluring promise of finding the source of the buzzer infestation she might have had to test her freshly cleaned pistol on the captain herself. Just as she was hoping for her opera to start one again another familiar melody played in her ears, “Shit it’s the captain’s birthday and I didn’t get her anything. Well I guess having me on board is a gift enough” she thought to herself “…or I can do that. I’ll be head and shoulders above the rest” laughing at her own joke envisioning the head of the buzzer leader more so than any sort of cake she would be entitled to. With that her music cut back on at the same moment her magazine clicked into place. A smile swept over her face as she holstered her gun and flipped the power button off in her room. Walking into main section of the bridge she saw she was not alone nor the first one to get there. Her clenched fist rocked into the metal heap that was Sae Okirigae. Pain shot up through her arm while her fingers grew weak, even though she was as robot, Blaire was hoping one day she would feel her punches. “Jesus what are they feeding you?” she said shaking her hand to get the pain out. She turned to glance behind Sae to see Reika in her shadow and Dimitri getting chummy with the captain. “I’m gonna head through the portal now so see ya around I guess” waving the crew goodbye. Now she wasn't anywhere near dumb enough or self destructive to launch herself out into space alone, so she did the next best thing and stared outside the glass into the vast emptiness of space and the giant portal looming around them. It was....captivating to say the least.
