She just thinks people should be comfortable in their own skin. If it gets cold, however, she will put on some more clothes in order to keep warm. She also doesn’t tend to wear shoes, liking feeling things with her bare feet. [indent]Katurah is very extroverted, loving to socialize with anyone she comes in contact with. After working in a tavern all her life, it's only natural that she is good at talking to people and she truly loves it. She is a very selfless person, always wanting to help out anywhere she can. On occasions she can be selfish, however, like running away to join a pirate ship and follow her dreams. She is overly kind, there may not be a mean bone in her body. If she wants to survive on a ship, however, she may soon find that she needs to change that. When it comes down to it she thinks she will do anything to protect others, but she’s never been faced with a situation to really know. Chances are she’s going to freeze and not know how to protect others or even herself.

She isn’t entirely ill-tempered, but people wouldn’t quite describe her as calm either. She can be rather impatient, hating having to wait for things to happen. She pretends that she’s brave, but in all actuality she is a coward. She will run from a fight any day mostly because she can’t fight. She easily becomes flustered and nervous. She surprisingly has a rather quick reaction speed, even if that reaction speed results in her running.

She is a naive little girl so she isn’t entirely intelligent, but she isn’t exactly an idiot either. She just lack experience. She’s rather charming in the sense that she likes to befriend everyone. She’s not a manipulative person, however. She’s got a great sense of humor and enjoys making others laugh. She is completely sane, though she is rather gullible. Her energy levels border on hyper and tend to be a little much for most people.[/indent]

Katurah was born on the continent of Aelvale in the capital city of Greenley. Her parents, Hafsa and Ibrahim Whitethorn, were the owners of one of the taverns near the docks. Although they weren’t rich, they weren’t entirely poor either and did fairly well for themselves. It helped that they had four children to help run things.

Growing up, Katurah loved to hear stories from the sailors who would come into the tavern. The girl loved to daydream and her favorite stories were about the ever so romantic pirates. How lovely it would be to be aboard one of those pirate ships and go on many adventures. She made it a goal right then to become a pirate someday.

In her teen years, her mother fell ill and she had to take over all her duties in the tavern as her brothers had gone off on a merchant ship and her sister had been married with a baby on the way. So it fell on her to cook, clean, and wait on all the tables. Many enjoyed her for her bubbly attitude and sweet nature. She was also quite gifted with a violin and her voice and often entertained the guests. She did well, but still continued to fantasize about running away. Her father wouldn’t hear of it and kept both daughters sheltered from the real world as much as he could.

Sadly, at nineteen years old Katurah lost her mother. It was rough on the whole family and her father seemed to fall ill as well. It prompted her eldest brother to come home and start running the tavern. That’s when she made a decision, she was done being a barmaid. So she took all her earnings, stole a little more funds from the tavern along with a couple kitchen knives, packed her things, and left in the dead of night. She bought passage aboard a ship to Lavioco and from there she made arrangements to go to Sunken Reef Isles. She had been in Parlay Cay for about a week before she managed to find a job aboard the Mermaid’s Fortune as a musician and to provide entertainment for the crew.
