I have neither of those."
Appearance: Elise wears a haori-hakama. At the very base, there's a light kimono. The "hakama" is a pants-like garment worn over the kimono. The "haori" is a light coat worn over the kimono. Also, contrary to the picture, she doesn't have double-stranded bangs on the front of her face. She only has a ponytail. This, along with the fact that her chest is as flat as an iron board, leads people to think she's actually a man. However, her short stature (5'7'') and alluring voice easily give her gender away. Other than all of that, the pictures tell you all you need to know. She does always keep her eyes shut. When she's deep in meditation, she gets so idle that birds begin to perch on her hat. Nothing important, just something cool to note. Age: Twenty-something Bio
There was once a land wherein many clans fought against each other for the glory of their ancestors. The spirits of their ancestors would give them guidance and urge them to enter conflict after conflict on their every whim. It was said that, long ago, the ancestors were mere mortals who roamed the world to hone their bodies and seek challenges beyond themselves. When they were to die, their souls would be trained to the point that they would be able to pass on to the realm of the Gods, while still maintaining their consciousness. That way, they would be able to watch over their descendants and people. Times were changing. The realm of the Gods was shifting away from the realm of Man. While many solitary spirits allowed this to happen, the more ambitious ones rallied their descendants to fight in their honor and spread belief in them, so that they may gain power through faith and reign over the earth. This separated people into clans that fought each other without rest or remorse. The clansmen either trained their bodies or derived power from Phantoms, otherworldly beings without a body, mind, or soul. Among them was a young woman who was said to be so skilled with the blade that entire armies would fall before her before bearing witness to her face. She could sense a person's intent by reading their eyes and predict their next move without mush effort. She was an elite killer, which is why her clan sought to make extensive use of her. They sent her to fetch a Phantom rumored to be so powerful that the heavens cowered every time he cried, and so she accepted her duty, travelling to the very edge of the land to find him. She found him stuck in a cursed cabinet. She readied her sword for an impending duel, after all, what cunning spirit didn't show themselves without trying to deceive wanderers into helping them, only to consume the naive fool after their interference? This spirit, however, never stopped begging for help even when she announced that the old tricks of the trickster god would not work on her. With a mighty yank, she freed the young spirit of his misery. Surprisingly, he bowed and uttered two words. "Thank you." Those two words sparked something in the young warrior. She had never heard them before, and they, unlike any weapon that had clashed with her sword, had pierced through her. She began killing less and doing more little good deeds that elicited small smiles and snickers from the village folk that had chosen not to be part of the war. Every time she heard those two words, she smiled herself. The patriarch of her clan didn't like this. He had a grand ambition, one that placed him at the center of the world and everyone else at it's edges. He was a honest man, because unlike most conquerors, he had completely convinced himself that his plans would work. They wouldn't work if one of his best assets were to sway his will. With a swing of his mighty blade, he killed the spirit, and the spirit's latent energy reverberated through the land, alerting his newly-made friend to his fate. She was sick of being ordered around. If things kept going like this, she would be no more than a mere tool. Her clan's patriarch deserved death for many reasons, but she crossed swords with him only because of this. In what she would describe as her most selfish act, she killed him, leaving his blood to stain the walls of his grand fortress. She threw away her old name and took on one she had been called by her old friend in the past. Nowadays, Elise wanders around, helping people and being broke as always.
Skills
Elise comes from a world with its a system of magic that puts foremost a person's body, mind, and soul. The body is one's vessel on the material plane, the soul is one's "body" in the spiritual plane, and the mind holds the body and soul together. In combat, the body manages physical attacks, the soul handles magic, and the mind manages the whole person and either initiates or prevents mental attacks. Each part of a person can be trained and used to enhance the others. A whole lot of techniques can be derived from using one or more than one part of one's being.

[Soul] Ki Absorption: The most basic part of magic: absorbing ki or magical energy. This can be used to amplify any technique and the user's physical mental strength.
[Soul] Ki Sensing: This technique allows one to sense ki or any sort of magical energy.
[Soul] Diameter of Control: Imagine the user at the center of a sphere with a certain diameter. Ki techniques only work within that diameter. The diameter can be made smaller, but can only be expanded through ki absorption. Elise's default diameter is 50 feet.
[Soul] Basic Ki Control: Elise can manifest and control small amounts of ki. This is enough to move things and stop their movement. She can also lock people in place by applying spiritual pressure to them. However, the ki controlled isn't enough to directly hurt people. Think of it as telekinesis, except it relies on the spirit rather than the mind.
[Soul] Advanced Ki Control: Elise can apply magical energy to objects, making them tougher. This is especially important among weapon-users. Also, when you throw something out of your diameter of control, the ki violently rushes out of the object, making it explode. You can do things like this with it.
[Soul] Mastered Ki Control - Omnidirectional Blade: When her sword is enhanced with ki, Elise can change its length and shape.
[Mind] Tug of Wills:When someone tries to read the Elise's mind, weaken it, or do any strange psychic stuff that affects it negatively, this technique negates the effect of the mental attack and turns the entire thing into a battle of wills. The mental attack will work if the attacker is much more motivated, angry, depraved, or whatever.
[Mind] Instinct: Freshly borrowed from one of my edgier characters from my early days of roleplaying, this technique allows one to read an opponent's body language, effectively predicting his/her/its next move. However, knowing what the enemy will do next doesn't help at all if the enemy is much faster than you (or very big). Elise can sense enemies using ki, but is prone to sneak attacks by people able to conceal their energy.
[Body] Impact Shift: This technique allows one to "shift" the direction of physical attacks. For example, you can punch a wall and shift the impact to be more focused on the middle of your fist, making the wall get sliced apart.
[Soul/Mind] Eyes of the Shimazaki: Elise opens her eyes. The flood of stimuli puts her mind into overdrive, allowing her to use her techniques at least thrice as fast. The immense drain this puts on the body only allows her to do this for about five minutes. She doesn't like using this.
I might add more as the story goes on

Elise is of course very good at handling a blade. She also excels in hand to hand combat.
Years of training have made her strong enough to at least dent metal and, with some effort, shatter concrete despite her slender stature. There's an explanation about this but at this point I'm tired of writing about crazy magic stuff.
She's also an excellent armchair psychologist who is able to tell things about people's motives and pasts by observing their actions and mannerisms. This is a trait left over from her days of being one of her clan's elite.
She's a decent singer
She can haggle

Personality On the surface, Elise is a happy-go-lucky do-gooder who just wants to make friends and have fun. She is amazingly carefree about everything and somewhat dense. Behind that, though, is a former assassin who scrutinizes the actions of people and questions her motives. She rarely trusts anyone and only helps them out of goodwill. In fact, one could say she's a selfish person who does it only for gratification. If you go even deeper, though, you'll find that she really just wants to make friends and have fun. Fun Facts

Yes, this is the same Elise from the run of this RP before this one. I changed her "voice colors" because I needed a lighter color to contrast with the dark background of the site.
She's essentially a female Kenshin Himura. I am an very bad writer with little to no original ideas.
I miss Agni
Talk to me if you have any questions

Original World Post:
Once upon a time, there were two worlds. The world of the Gods and the world of Man. Man's collective subconscious sculpted the Gods from the immense spiritual energy in the other world, and in return, the Gods guided Man and kept them at peace. However, the two world have begun to move apart, and the Gods began to revert into raw spiritual energy while Man plunged itself into war and violence. (Astus' profile explained the world even better than this. Check it out.) Great Powers

Divine Sanctuary: A huge organization dedicated to serving the Gods. As the Gods grew more distant, the organization began to get filled with greedy diplomats and abusive soldiers both hungering for power and luxury. They wage war a lot, since they want to "rebuild the world in the image of the Gods", but everyone knows it's because they just want more influence. Also, they never really did that back then.
Enlightenment's Reach: A group of countries wherein the world's Enlightenment grew. They used to be a bunch of wimps pushed aside by barbarians until they they uncovered the "knowledge of the ancients" and made the growth of science, technology, and philosophy rapid. They and their huge Magitek-powered armies (they discovered a metal that could contain magical energy and named it Phlebotinum) keep the Sanctuary from taking over the world. They're really classy.
Freedom's Abode: This world's America. Through trade and innovation, what was once a bunch of run-down colonies run by former Enlightenment's Reach residents became a major world power.
People's Domain: Freedom's Abode but communist. They thrive on an odd mixture of traditionalism and socialism. People there are happier but poorer.
The Eastern Lands: A bunch of clans and territories united by their own distinct culture. Once a proud and mighty quasi-civilization, they failed to catch up with industrialism early and are now an anachronistic mess. Everyone goes here for vacation.
Overall Technology Level: Futuristic, due to Magitek. Certain metals and magic inscriptions harness magical energy to work, and so they run on it rather than oil or electricity. Cars have been replaced by flying polygon-shaped aircraft that are as accessible as cars. In fact, entire floating islands that carry countries and run on magical energy exist. However, technology's spread is erratic at best, and people in People's Domain, the Eastern Lands, and other far-off places don't have much access to it.

Once upon a time, there were two worlds, interconnected yet separated. One world was nothing but a mass of spiritual energy, while the other one was a newly-formed Earth, reeking of lava and stone and absolutely no life at all. Time passed by, and life came into existence. Evolution did its thing until beings capable of observing and understanding the world around them came to be. They were the first humans. These humans felt the need to explain all that happened around them, find meaning in their lives, and survive. They began to create tales, stories and epics of Gods and heroes triumphing over evil and shaping the world into what it was. With that, Gods arose from the other world. The pure spiritual energy took shape into what humans perceived them to be, and Gods and humans lived in harmony, with Gods using their power to guide and protect humans and humans subconsciously willing them into existence. There were the Gods of Heaven, the Gods of Earth, the Gods of the Seas and Oceans, the Gods of Death, Life, Calamity, and Prosperity. However, some humans became entitled and sleazy, and decided that they could blame the Gods for every single minor thing that inconvenienced them. Thus, Astus was born. He was the God of Trickery, Deceit, and Misfortune. Astus first took joy in tormenting other people. It was his only purpose in life. There was this one time when a group of heroes were travelling to the center of the earth when a giant dragon appeared out of the ground, making them wet the skirts of their armor. That dragon was Astus. He also ruined people's weddings by causing people's pants to fall off for a wild variety of reasons. As the minds of these humans developed, they began to seek personality and individuality in each of their deities. Each God became more human and formed relationships with each other. That's when Astus realized that he was inadequate, that no other God would notice him because he was created just to be blamed. Soon, for some reason, the two worlds began to move apart. This caused the gods to revert into pure masses of spiritual energy. The first one to go was Raeda, the God of Carriage Riding. Humans were beginning to build automobiles, so he became pretty much useless. Astus didn't like that, because both of them were good friends because the other Gods didn't mind both of them. More and more Gods disappeared and without the Gods' guidance, humans waged wars with one another and everything went to hell. Some Gods tried to keep their power, others resigned to their fates and just moped around. Astus, however, found his true calling in life and decided to investigate the reason behind the separation of the worlds. He took the form of a cat and used what little power he had left to jump right into the other world.
Notes: Everything Elise has done at the start of the story happens before the Sanctuary invades the Eastern Lands and her meeting of Yuuta. We could make that a plot point if you will.
