The reason the characters are graduating from the Academy is because they have mastered at least two of the artes, so no, there isn't really going to be a higher level of mastery of any of the artes.

A primary and a secondary will be okay. Just keep in mind that your character needs to realistically be able to carry around both weapons. Not like anyone would want to duel wield greatswords anyway though :P
