So rangers apprentice is a book series set in the medieval ages in a kingdom similar to Britain called Araluen  and it is about a young man who joins what's called the rangers corps and they they are an elite paramilitary organization, tasked with foreign and domestic intelligence gathering, law enforcement within Araluen's borders, and special operations.(if you like this one I can speak more on their weapons and training )
