Description: Lance is 6'5" tall and has short brown hair. A family trait that typically subsides is still present in him, his left iris is a blood red whilst his right is green. Within the Firestrom family this is a trait of pyromancy and typically only shows itself when they're experiencing strong emotions such as anger and rage.

He often has a very tired/half-bothered expression, most likely from the limited access he has around the school. He's often seen wearing what appears to be a black lab coat over the top of a plain white shirt. He has multiple ties all of which have a design centering around a phoenix at its tip.

Personality: Lance is outwardly an open and friendly individual, though he has his secrets that he can't speak of particularly regarding the war.

When it comes to the students, Lance maintains his friendly persona but only so far as the students show willingness to learn and show progress. He has no qualms in showing distaste to those that see themselves above his teaching or that show little interest in his lessons.

Skills:
The Phoenix's Flame - A scorching golden blaze that cannot be controlled by other pyromancers, though resistant to aquamancy with enough effort the flame can be doused. The most efficient method for removal is via nullification which breaks the flames energy completely.
Degrading Toxins - A skill Lance picked up and utilized during the war whereby once the toxin had latched on and taken effect it would slowly degrade within the body. This was used against multiple cultist captives during the war. Typically during interrogations, most mages interrogated by Lance did not survive the process and the causes of death always seem to be medical related. Though it was thought and very much true that he'd killed the prisoner with use of toxins they could never identify what it was in order to prove it.
Firestrom Knowledge - Renowned for having dirt on most of the mage families Lance serves as almost a font of knowledge. Heir to the Firestrom family archives and charges with increasing its capacity wherever possible. He provides insight to other mages, though this doesn't typically come freely.

Weaknesses:
Aquamancy - Though he has become attuned to facing off against them, the natural weakness to aquamancy always makes these opponents fairly troubling.
Little Empathy - Despite being a master of toxins which enables him to ease peoples suffering he typically won't use it for this reason.
The Phoenix's demise - Utilising the power of The Phoenix's flame is often considered the last resort as using the spell is exhausting on the caster and limits his Lance's actions from the level of concentration it takes to maintain.


Brief History:

One of the surviving members of the Firestrom family that had fought for the council/community forces during the war. All of the Firestrom that signed up to fight for the council were near instantly granted high serving strategist positions within the forces and tactically positioned accordingly. Lance in particular showed interest in expanded his role as an interrogator.

During this sub-role in the council forces Lance dabbled more into toxin production in order to better understand how he could limit and expand its effectiveness. It was during this time that he learned how to breakdown his toxins as they were being applied meaning they could neither be cured nor leave any trace inside the body once it had expired. This had a range of uses to covering up deaths to just torturing people with the need for him to necessarily be in attendance.

Lance is also heir to the Firestrom archive. A well revered member of the family who has, since the war been able to vastly improve the collective of information that the Firestrom family holds on other mages. It was primarily his role to broker deals all of which relating to the trading of information with the client to their family having to provide financial reward to sweeten the pot. The fee was typically based on the who and the what that the client wanted to know.[/hider]

The Firestrom family are known for both their inherit skill in pyromancy and strategical mindedness. Given this it was not difficult to foresee that once war broke out their assistance was sought after by both sides. Initially the Firestrom family had refused to get involved, but as time dragged on it became more apparent that this was not a stance they'd be able to maintain.  Both sides were growing impatient and involvement was becoming less sought out than it was demanded.  Given the personal interests and ambitions of different family members it was inevitable the house hold would be split.  Resulting in an almost clean fifty percent cut between those that would fight for the cult and those that would defend the world against them.  Or so it was thought...

A plan that went horribly awry, leaving great numbers dead within the magical community.  Serving to the longevity of the war a plan hatched by the family to lead the magical cult into a defection trap had failed.  Resulting in the Firestrom members that fought for the magical cult to go into hiding and several of those who fought for the magical community dead.[/hider]

Other:
- Lance has restricted access within the academy with all his amenities available within a closed off section of the academy. Though he does infrequently travel the school grounds, it's even rarer for him to be witnessed doing so.
- Lances Toxin's classroom, professors office and private quarters are all joined rooms. One can not gain access to either of the latter two without pass through the first.
- Though Lance has a night time patrol route, he rarely actually completes it and just radios in at the appointed times from his office.[/hider]
