Natalie Ellis

Natalie nursed her hands, and cleared her aching, strained throat. She hadn't had the nightmares this bad since just after she was rescued. It was probably the shock of seeing a dead body, or the though that she could be in danger from a mysterious murderer. Maybe it was just nerves that if the interview went south she could be a suspect and lose the freedom she'd come to cherish this past week. She had the truth on her side, but was that enough? The system was supposed to be trustworthy, and Natalie trusted the system, but the fact that everyone else was so paranoid and skeptical...it felt like everyone knew something she didn't. But in this situation, Natalie's naivety and lack of knowledge is her greatest strength. All she is right now is a witness. She will tell them what she saw, and she will be completely honest. The body had clearly been dead a while anyway. They couldn't claim she had killed him yesterday....right? Security came to collect her, nullifier in tow, and recoiled at the sight before him. The solid concrete walls of Natalie's room were covered in dents and scratches beyond what even a frenzied gorilla or fully grown lion were capable of. Natalie's knuckles were cut, scabby and bleeding. The skinny, pale girl looked down and shuffled with her foot. "Sorry. I, uh, had a nightmare."
Natalie arrived at the station a short time after Lynn. Both of her hands were not dressed and bandaged. She was surprised to see she still wasn't the last one in. Already inside the room was Archie, who was eating a donut. They looked good, and Natalie hadn't had breakfast yet, so she took one, before looking over to Lynn. She seemed so angry and confrontational yesterday. Natalie was worried that Lynn would have lunged at her or something, and was glad there were security present to keep everything under control. But today, she was much calmer. Maybe the shock had amplified her paranoia, but now it'd had tome to register, she was back to her normal self. Maybe. The very fact she was here before the interview had even started meant she was spotted. Probably an eyewitness, or a security camera. Natalie thought about telling her I told you so, but that would definitely start a fight, so she looked away, sat down besides Archie (keeping him between her and Lynn) and took a bite of her donut. She really hoped Archie wouldn't ask about her hands, but she knew he would. With any luck, he hadn't heard her scream. "Hey," she greeted in a croaky voice, looking slightly up at him. "I didn't sleep very well. I had nightmares..as you can see. And hear. Probably gonna need a new room while they repair my old one. What about you?"
