The woman seemed so caring and wanted to save everyone. It was quite admirable if she were being honest. It also brought her own thoughts back to Elthrael. Kyran hadn’t mentioned if he’d seen the male fairy and it filled her with a bit of fear. Was he okay? She really wished he would have followed them into the cave. Although she may have been mad at him for trying to control her, but she still cared about him. He was the first one in this land to help her out, it still counted for something. She watched Kyran prevent Risa from going back and she had to stop herself from trying to do the same. She wanted to see if Elthrael was alright, but instead knew her best bet right now was to follow this group. When they got to the mouth of the cave, Elsea found herself moving over to Risa and gently taking her hand. She looked at the woman and gave her a comforting smile, though there was a look of sorrow in her eyes. She then looked back to Kyran. ”I’ll follow you guys wherever you decide to go at this point, but where was Elthrael? You only mentioned Jean, was Elthrael okay?” She asked him warily, fearing his answer. Fire was quite the mesmerizing thing, beautiful as it danced around, yet even the smallest amount could be deadly. It was destructive, yet it also brought life and that was something she found quite interesting. It was these thoughts running through her mind that almost made her miss the beginning of Bowyn’s next words. Slowly she looked over to the man, an irritation starting to fill her once more. Battle was a horrible thing, yes, she couldn’t disagree with that. She’d been apart of it enough to know this, yet in her mind it was just a part of life. If no one fought the chances of more dying or worse happening were even more a threat. ”The young die no matter what when there is a tyrant or some other threat.” She said coldly, yet it was the truth. Her eyes fell back to the fire as memories began to flood her once more. ”Battle is horrific, you aren’t wrong. I’ve been in many battles and have lost so many that I know this first hand. Though I’d rather die in battle knowing I at least fought for my freedom than die in the horrible ways I’ve watched men kill young men who refused to fight. Where I come from men are not kind to those who won’t or can’t fight.” She told him as she shuddered at the memories of men forcing families to watch their children die in horrible ways before also killing them. Of slowly roasting a living person over a fire, letting the family listen to them scream until their screams were no more. Just the thought of such things made her feel ill. She finally pulled herself out of her thoughts once more and she looked back to Bowyn. ”I’m truly sorry you had to fight and you lost so many. I am eternally grateful to you for the help you have given me so far and continue to offer. If we can find my sister and give her a proper funeral that would be wonderful, but if it becomes dangerous or we get caught before then by these people that are hunting me then I want you to turn me in. Promise me you’ll do whatever you need to in order to protect yourself. Even though I would like to continue living, my life is meaningless in comparison to yours as you are a native to this land and I am not.” She told him as she slowly decided to get up, ready to go look for her sister’s body. She was serious in what she said, knowing she’d feel awful if something were to happen to Bowyn because of her.
