Penelope's smile returned a bit at Crow's teasing words, finding them amusing and also appreciating his effort to lift her spirits. As he went on with a more serious note, she shifted her gaze away from him as he tried to assure her that the past had not been her fault. It was rather difficult to listen to his words. On one hand she was glad that he didn't blame her for the original mission's failure but on the other, she should have been more alert on the return trip. Most of her opponents were bigger than her and as for his skill, well she should have been prepared to deal with that. As he went on to state something similar to what he father had said, a hint of amusement returned to her gaze. That aside, she supposed there was some truth to their words. The god had entrusted her after all, so she must have been the best chance that the kingdom had to peacefully ending the war. It still felt like quite a bit of weight on her shoulders but it did boost her confidence slightly. "Gods I can't wait for that." Penelope sighed, resting her cheek against the palm of her hand as he mentioned moving forward. "That and the possibility of actually ending this war are probably the two most exciting parts to me about getting through this party... Speaking of which, my father wants to speak with me after the party so maybe then I can see where he stands on us courting." she mused thoughtfully. Her father had seemed a bit more than tolerant of Crow lately, at least judging from what she heard about lessons and the like, so she was still rather hopeful that he would give him his blessing. Her main concern there was just that John would want to make them wait even longer before they could start courting publicly. She gave a shrug with her shoulders and shot Crow an appreciative smile. "But thanks.. I can't say that my worries are completely gone but I do feel a bit better." she admitted.
