Era: Age of Gods Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Personality: Her soft-spoken and composed outlook does not indicate a cordial personality but rather a dismissive one. She is suspicious of humanity as she herself has been the victim to the desires of man. Much like the ocean that is her domain, she can turn ugly and violent in an instant, letting her contempt for disrespectful humans known. Deep down she loves people, and hopes they will find a balance with nature, but traumatic experiences force her to keep them at arms length. At times she can appear selfish and vindictive herself, but these are actually tests she gives to humanity. As someone who had godhood incidentally thrust upon her she often questions her own actions as being just or not. Also loves having her hair combed. Character Objectives: Her primary goal is to win the Grail and turn back the passage of time to before her ascension to godhood so she can avoid her tragic fate and pass on her role as Mother of the Deep to another more suited for the job. Her secondary goal would be to ensure that humanity reconnects with the natural world it seems to have lost touch with. She's also a little excited about being able to explore a warmer climate than what she is used to. Bio: Sedna was the object of many peoples desires. Not only was it her beauty that entranced people but she had a divine lineage and a mastery of the shamanic arts that many coveted. Her father being the greatest of hunters meant she lived never wanting for anything. She continuously turned down suitor after suitor until a young Inuk promised to provide her with all the things she desired, provided they live on his island. After being married and moving to the island Sedna was distraught to find the Inuk was actually a bird in disguise who lived with his fellow birdmen and who could only catch fish. She quickly tired of eating fish everyday until her father showed up for a visit. Upon discovering the birdman's deception, her father quickly killed the birdman and attempted to whisk Sedna away in his kayak. Avenging their fallen companion, the birdmen generated a storm that threatened to knock Sedna and her father into the frigid waters, freezing them to death. In desperation, Sedna's father threw his own daughter overboard. Gripping to the side of the kayak for life, as a storm raged over head, Sedna watched in horror as her own father took up his ulu and chopped her fingers off, joint by joint, until she finally fell into the sea and sank into the depths. However, that was not the end of Sedna. Whether it was divine intervention, her own ritual, or even a combination of the two; from each joint that was cast into the water up sprung a new form of life to inhabit the oceans, resulting in the creation of hundreds of animal spirits. As she sank she was transformed into a vengeful goddess who would shepherd sealife and punish those who took more than what she allowed, pacified only by combing her seaweed-like hair. Weapon: She possesses her father's ulu, a crescent-shaped knife typically used for carving seals. [*]Divinity: D- (Gradually increases to A+); The measure of whether one has Divine Spirit aptitude or not. A child of divinity who themselves achieved Godhood. Repeated use of one of her NPs gradually increases her Divinity Rank until she achieves Divine Spirit status and disappears from the Holy Grail War. [*]Animal Dialogue: A; Communication of intention with animals that do not speak a "language of words". Having been the creator deity of whole species, she can readily communicate with and command sea creatures. Terrestrial and airborne animals take a little more coaxing.
Noble Phantasm: Limit two. Exceptional circumstances may bend this rule, however Noble Phantasms exist to create a themed servant so keep that in mind. Name: Painful Ascension of the Sea Mother Title: "The Father's Horrible Sacrifice Brings New Life" Rank: B NP Type: Anti-Self Range: Self Maximum Number of Targets: N/A Description: While attempting to escape the birdmen's assault, Sedna's father took his ulu and cutoff his daughter's fingers joint by joint in order to cast her into the ocean. This awful ritual resulted in a miracle tangential to True Magic, resulting in the creation of entirely new species and their accompanying spirits. It is essentially the power of a creation goddess at work. Upon the ritual sacrifice of one of her fingers, Sedna can perform a facsimile of her miracle and birth new life from the sea. This new life takes the form of a Phantasmal Beast(s) able to directly combat servants. Beasts are taken directly from her area of origin and in some cases multiple Beasts can be summoned depending on the strength of each individual Beast. Beasts will follow her every command without question, though they themselves are not immune to being dominated by other Servants. Sedna can assume direct control of any of them, seeing through their eyes. The ritual itself is not complicated, only requiring Sedna to sever one of her fingers with the intention to summon a beast. Digits lost within regular combat do not cause the NP to activate. Although simple, it is a traumatic experience for Sedna as she has to relive that fateful day with her father every single time she performs it. With each successive ritual the pain becomes worse, the mental trauma become harder to bear and her divinity gets a slight rank up, bringing her closer to godhood. Name: Adlivun Title: "To Go Beneath is to Rise Above" Rank: A NP Type: Anti-Fortress Range: N/A Maximum Number of Targets: N/A Description: As Sedna fell into the depths, her body went through a divine transformation. Assuming her domain over the ocean, she named Adluvin, the Inuit Underworld, to be her domain. A realm beyond the land and waves, it is a place where one's soul is purified before being sent to the moon and is a direct, though usually inaccessible path, to the Reverse Side of the World. Adlivun is much more than a place, it is a confluence of departed souls, human and animal alike. Upon completion of a three day ritual, Sedna may establish a pocket dimension within a nearby body of water in order to build a Temple equivalent territory. The territory itself is constructed of thick, enchanted ice and acts as a conduit for the spirits of the departed. She may adjust the Temple's depth however she wishes provided it stays at least partially submerged. As a portion of an Underworld it erodes the Force of Providence and spirits within it cannot leave without Sedna's permission.
[hider=Rational? Bio: A child prodigy born to a well-off British family, she was taught her family's Numerology magecraft from a young age. Their Numerology was mostly derived from an ancient Babylonian tradition rather than more contemporary methods derived from Kabbalah. It's primary function was to predict outcomes of current events and discern personality traits. However, more sinister sects could alter other people's temperament's, allowing mages to manipulate others from the shadows so that their visions of the future were realised. This was how the Dirac's were able to amass influence within the Mage Association. Paula herself is particularly math obsessed, even having earned a Masters from a typical university. She tries to reduce everything to an equation, a delicate dance of numbers working off of each other. When controlling for every variable, math can be used to predict everything. --- Magic Circuit Switch: The sound of chalk on a chalkboard Number of Magic Circuits: B Quality of Magic Circuits: B --- Elemental Affinity: Earth Magecraft: General Magecraft, Numerology, Elemental Magic: Earth, Kabbalism Crest: 200 years old Weapon: Klein Automorphic Tri-Torus; A trio of isomorphous clay shapes that an conduct and amplify magical attacks.
