I have (mostly) finished a character... after quite a long time of being stuck on some of the sections (secret origins I'm looking at you). When his mother returned to active service with the X-Men, Morgan learned to control his power from his father... as well as a few other tricks.
Appearance
Morgan LeBeau favours his mother in appearance, from his mousy brown hair with streaks of white to his completely mundane green eyes. While he is tall, 6'0" with room to grow, he has a lean build and doesn't put on mass easily. It is fairly obvious to look at him that he is Rogue's son; less so his father's. As far as fashion sense goes, he doesn't have much of one. His go-to is flannel shirts with the sleeves rolled up and smart slacks. He does have an extravagant tattoo of playing cards on one arm that is completely incongruous to his whole get-up and clearly a one-time mistake.
Personality Traits
• Mild-Mannered • Perceptive • Ambitious • Impulsive • Self-Centered • Sly
Secret Origin
It isn't easy being the kid of two active heroes. Morgan doesn't have any other frame of reference, but he reckons it's worse when your parents have hopped over the line into temporary villainy on more than one occasion. With his parents in a constant, complicated state of married-but-separated-but-together, he spent the summers with his Mom. Some residents of Xavier's never got over Rogue's "youthful indiscretions". Lo and behold, as her spitting image, Morgan ended up in a few sticky situations because of it – usually with other kids his age. Through trial and error, he learned the best way to combat this was to muster up as much southern hospitality as he could and get his own back when they couldn't see him. As for life in New Orleans? It was usually fine, except for remnants of the Thieves Guild cropping up to ask for favours from their former patriarch, or the ghosts of the Gambit's past. Too many lessons on 'how to manage your powers' and 'how to count cards' were interrupted – prime father-son bonding time right there, ruined the vendetta of the week. (And then there's the fans. There's not too many of them, thank God, but Morgan could have lived a long and happy life without knowing that there are communities that 'ship' his parents.) For all that neither of his parents wanted to push him one way or another, there were too many awkward talks for them to be anything but transparent about their respective positions. Dad was in favour of him trying out the hero stuff, at the very least. Mom wanted him to be normal, go to an Ivy League, et cetera. Little did they know, Morgan had already made his decision long ago. It began with a question over breakfast: "Mom, why aren't you ever in the Top 10 lists?"
Family Tree
Mother | Anne-Marie Darkholme (Rogue) | FC: Eliza Dushku Father | Remy LeBeau (Gambit) | FC: Gaspard Ulliel [sup]GIFs to be added soon![/sup]
Abilities
Morgan can absorb energy from his surroundings to bolster his own telekinetic powers. It can be kinetic or potential energy – or, as he found out, whatever nebulous life-force fuels a person – so long as he can make physical contact with the source. As a base-line, Morgan's telekinesis is on the weaker side. The more he absorbs, the more items he can control at once, the faster and more dangerous his projectiles, and the better his durability and reflexes. It also enables more advanced techniques, like telekinetic flight, though his father's molecular acceleration is still far beyond his current abilities. Other than his mutation, Morgan has had some martial training in the acrobatic style both of his parents use and is reasonably athletic. Incidentally, he also has excellent sleight-of-hand ([s]and has picked a few pockets in his day[/s]); however, he doesn't have a reason to showcase this talent so much.
