It was the duty of one’s parents to cherish and teach their children, and it was the duty of the child to be better than their parents, after all. Whether it be in morality, intelligence, or strength, Sorano would overcome her father and mother one way or the other, to ensure them that what they had chosen for her was correct, and to let them retire in peace, knowing that they have raised their daughter better than how they have been raised themselves. Filial piety makes up for much of how Sorano acts. Though not necessarily strict with others, she strives to act in a way that won’t embarrass or bring shame upon the family name, and constantly considers the consequences of her actions. She is in control of herself, and this is reflected in every aspect of her life. Sorano has never failed to submit an assignment, plans out her schedule with devastating exactness, and maintains a strict exercise regime and diet to ensure that she is always in optimal condition. A perfect daughter, really, excelling in academic and extracurricular pursuits through hard work and efficiency. In her third year of high school, Sorano has completed cultivating the aura of an unapproachable exemplar: the ace of the girls’ tennis club, the ice-cold class representative, and a consistent top-ranker in exams. She might even be popular, if it wasn’t for how often she shuns social opportunities. Which is quite disappointing to her father, who really wanted to act the part of the belligerent papa bear towards any little skinny shit who wants to date his daughter. But those are the sacrifices one has to make, after all, if they wish to become a Tenha. Until her goals are achieved, interpersonal relationships are at the bottom of her list of priorities. Hunter Power: Telekinesis Techniques: Sorano’s combat style is that of a highly mobile mid-range combatant. By imbuing inanimate objects with her magic, she can turn them into high-speed projectiles that home in on whatever target she selects. Though her father used the Fumihana magical lineage to become a potent sniper, Sorano’s own interpretation on the ability gives her much more mobility. In combat, she secures three-dimensional mobility immediately, before using a variety of improvised projectiles to chip away at the defenses of her enemies at a safe distance, until their frustration and fatigue causes them to leave a fatal opening. Phantom Drifter By cloaking her own clothing in her magical aura, Sorano can turn her body into a projectile, enabling her unarmed strikes to land with incredible speed and precision, as well as giving her far greater mobility than possible for normal Hunters. This is her most developed technique, and the advantage of freeform, three-dimensional movement has been instrumental in enabling her to defeat youkai that would otherwise simply overpower her. Stardust Spray As speed, rather than mass, is where Sorano's telekinetic barrages shine, Starscape Spray is utilized most often for the creation of more ammunition. After imbuing an object with her power, Sorano can set multiple 'targets' for that object to shoot towards, essentially locking the object in place while tearing it to pieces. The more targets she sets, the more pieces there will be, and once that object is split into such pieces, she certainly has more ammunition to fire off with. Though it is a less common application of the technique, Starscape Spray can also be used to, rather predictably, destroy objects...but if destruction was the idea there, it'd be just as easy simply to smash a telekinetically-propelled rock at it. Void Saturate A two part technique, Void Saturate is utilized when Sorano does, indeed, require mass. First, she creates the 'Core', a small object easily infused with her power. Then, she saturates the area around the Core with her power, converting all other objects nearby into projectiles that she can manipulate. These objects are all automatically set to target the Core, essentially smashing into a single point and gradually forming an amalgamation of magically charged objects. By moving the Core around, Sorano moves the telekinetic aura around as well, gathering more and more objects, and when she's ready to fire, all she needs to do is set a target for the Core, and every other object attached to it will follow. Heirloom: Moonsilver Grips A pair of pearly gloves made of a piece of the Moon. Though as soft and light as silk, it hardens upon impact, dispersing kinetic energy easily, and can be used to fully block bladed weapons and bullets. More importantly, however, the Grips serve as magical conductors, enabling Sorano to rapidly imbue objects with her power. With her Heirloom, she can instantly turn any object that can be held in her hand into a charged projectile and in that same span of time fire it off at supersonic speeds. Skills: Sorano is an all-rounder when it comes to adulting. She is proficient with most household chores (outside of doing taxes, which her parents really don’t want her to do yet), and is especially skilled with making tasteless but nutritionally rich meals. She likes to keep in shape, is quite good at making detailed schedules and plans, and when it comes to tennis, Sorano will absolutely wipe the floor with anyone in the school...and probably in the prefecture as well. Little known fact about her is that, through her care of her younger siblings, Sorano has become exceptionally skilled at cleaning up vomit and changing diapers. That'll probably be useful one day. Maybe. Limiter/Charm: Curiously enough, her limiters are a pair of white gloves, while her heirloom's charm form is that of a pair of glasses. Glasses that she actually needs, because she's a bit near-sighted, so when equipping herself for battle, Sorano first needs to take off her gloves, then take off her glasses, before putting on another pair of gloves and glasses afterwards. The redundancy can be a bit annoying sometimes, but she's become used to it by now, for better or worse.
