Gushiken Torami had been walking around the city for quite some time, as part of her usual evening stroll. She'd been keeping an eye out for anything strange this whole time, but ever since that one anomaly where one of the monsters had been attacking the local mall and tore it asunder, everything had just been... normal. Too normal, even. It was enough for Torami to doubt what she saw was real. Torami sat down on park bench where she remembered her father finding her on. A group of four girls were the first ones Torami had her eyes on. They certainly chose an odd time to have a picnic, but that wasn't something she'd personally consider interesting enough to keep watching. She did pay enough attention to notice they were all looking in one general direction, and shifted her attention accordingly. That plastic disc-like object that some young men were throwing around as part of a game struck a peculiar chord of fascination. Torami found herself entranced, as though she could watch the game for hours. ... Then all of a sudden, it happened. A monster had burst out of the ground under one of the players' feet. Everyone had scampered in all directions as would be expected, and that was enough to keep casualties to a minimum at the very least since the monster could only target one person at a time. However, one of the original four girls that Torami was watching had been completely paralyzed in fear from the sight of the attacking monster, and the picnic basket and that "disc" still lied on the ground where the monster could easily trample on them, intentionally or otherwise. Without a second's hesitation, Torami raced to grab both of those things, and immediately caught up to the girl whose friends had inadvertently left her behind. "Excuse me!" Torami called out, carrying the disc-like object on top of the closed basket, "Are any of these items yours?" While Torami's clothes had transformed in preparation to combat the monster, she had yet to realize that that was what she was meant to do.
