[@ZAVAZggg] Regarding the dwarf star, yeah it just was happanstance, an unfortunate 180 in life. As for technology, yes there are some limits. For example of course, FTL-capable ships haven't been developed, Jump Gates being the primary means of traveling between star systems. Nothing else comes to mind for now, but I'll let you guys know when something isn't kosher to the setting. Also to note to explain why Jump Gates are a thing now despite alien civilizations being established, they were all too primitive to leave beyond their homeworlds or systmes before the humans arrived. Edit: And yes, proper aliens :D
I see. Well I assume directed energy weapons exist, unless it's all still kinetic. Even then if there's any space combat at all it'd still be done from either side of a system so it still works. Hell probably even better than usual given the lack of gravity. As for the lack of FTL, that actually makes the possibility of discovering it, either as a joint effort or singular fluke, far more interesting. Who knows what could be lurking in hyperspace after all. Anyway, another question I have is that of shielding. Are we talking energy or relying on pure hull integrity? EDIT: Asking just so I know what to avoid when making a nation from the get go.
