What about things like psionics? Is that a possibility or a no go in this?

EDIT: Also, power sources. Are xenos, being less advanced when humans arrived, capable of using energy, dark energy, dark matter, etc, to power their craft now? Or are they still limited to chemical engine's that run off of liquid fuel mixes and such?
