Btw, if Max does come across as an asshole, belive me, he's certainly capable of veering into one :P He's a very odd mixture of serious/bluntness and easygoing/humerous that I've seen in some military personel, and he's definitely got a bit of paranoia beneath that really laid back skin of his that can be seen. Call it mild PTSD, or a really dubious coping mechanism for what kind of a character he can be....
