Everyone has their reasons. How you got here doesn’t really matter, what matters is that you’re here now. Enjoy it because moments like these don’t last for long.
Motel Cadillac. Five stars? Not really. Clean, orderly, and safe? That can be argued. Shady and most likely a murder scene? Hell yeah. A small, dingy motel known as the Motel Cadillac located in the middle of nowhere, Coalfell, Arizona to be more exact, exists on the outskirts of a sleepy and ominous town; a town that can be described as...retro, if you’re looking at it optimistically. Outdated, from the other point of view. From its seemingly non-existent residents to the abandoned grocery stores and flickering street lamps, this place seems like it came straight out of a horror movie. Overgrown weeds grow from cracked pavement and empty parking lots and the only thing that seemed to work are the random vending machines and payphones scattered around town. It’s nonmainteneced roads are covered in rust-colored dust, the pavement heated up by the scorching summer sun uncovered by clouds. Cacti and other shrubbery make up for the lack of grass in Coalfell, that and the strange amount of dead plants residents seem to own. Either they just didn’t want to take care of them, or that’s just what happens to anything other than cacti. Now, the scenery itself gave the town a ‘dead’ kind of look, but it was really the buildings that put it all together. It basically looked like your typical run-of-the-mill ghost town, except people still lived here, though it was sometimes questionable whether or not they actually existed. The only time they really appeared was after 10:00 at the bar and 7:00 at the cafe. Both in one building to the locals’ convenience. Overall, it was pretty silent, sometimes overwhelmingly so, but the occasional swerving of tires trying not to come into contact with the potholes scattered around as tourists tried to pass through, sounded loudly for miles. Which was also a bit of a reminder to the residents of Coalfell why they disliked newcomers so much. Other than the tiny cafe and bar that has outdated KARAOKE NIGHT! posters peeling off of the dusty windows, the Cadillac might even be one of the busiest places in town. The establishment invites many sorts of strange people, most times drifters, though there are the few permanent residents along with the locals who tend to stray around the pool on especially hot days. With its weather beaten red doors and a fully functioning ice machine, the Motel is easily one of the more charming places compared to the rest of Coalfell. The people around here are far more friendly than those who work at the cafe, or anywhere else, really; however strange and intimidating they may be.
Swim in the sea Go on road trips Count the stars Find true love Be free ☼
Though not at all impressive compared to many other places, the small town of Coalfell is unique in its own way. Travelers from who knows where often gather at the Cadillac, perhaps drawn to the mystery and strangeness that surrounds this place, or just needing somewhere to rest their head, the reason doesn’t matter. Everyone has a place here whether it be temporary or permanent; a small oasis apart from something much greater. The Motel Cadillac invites anyone and everyone regardless of who they were before. The walls may not be the brightest and the rooms the cleanest, nor its walls the highest, but its heart is bigger than any city could ever hope to be. Welcome to Motel Cadillac and we hope you enjoy your stay.
Places
A small but lively cafe and bar, Momma May's is the most well known business in the entire town, and is easily one of the best places to hang out. Although it may not have the friendliest exterior with its uneven parking lot and many motorcycles taking up the best spaces (courtesy of the resident biker gang, the Red Wolves), this worn down and certainly aged building hosts some of the most energetic karaoke nights, one of the only times that bring the suspicious citizens of Coalfell together for a night. The only downside of the normally upbeat place is the distrust of outsiders of any kind. No one is exactly sure why they feel this way, perhaps it's just their nature.

Dark and dusty, this public library holds seemingly ancient books that probably haven't been checked out in over twenty years. The only way they make money is tracking down those who have anything overdue and harass them to pay up. At this point no one in Coalfell goes to read but instead to smoke things they probably shouldn't, especially the younger folk. There are maybe two employees total that constantly make rounds throughout the small building to make sure no one's stealing anything, though no one's doing that anytime soon. The only thing the library's actually good for is getting intel on the other residents at Coalfell since it seems the only two people who work there seem to know everything on everyone.

All throughout this tiny town, there are many run down, eerie, and probably haunted places scattered pretty frequently. Not only are there empty parking lots, gas stations, a grocery store that just says "Rog" due to faded and broken lettering, but there's even an old brick building that used to be a hospital. Even though it would be a great hang out spot, no one ever goes in there anymore since the disappearance of a group of children who were last spotted inside the building and never came out. Seems safe.
