She easily and often switches from feminine dresses and rompers to masculine leather jackets, jeans, and boots. One could hardly say she's resigned into any one style of clothing. While, despite what she might say, she does care a great deal how she looks but simply hasn't found a singular aesthetic that really fits how she feels she wants to display herself. So she has an amalgamation of styles at her disposal she can draw from depending on how she's feeling at any given moment. As for makeup and accessories she's rather minimalist. She isn't for flashy or eye catching. So she rarely wears any accessories, save for her locket, and maybe a simple bracelet at times. With makeup she adheres to a less is more approach; favoring natural tones that mask any blemishes and highlight certain features without being too obvious. Though 60% of the time she doesn't wear any makeup.

Psychology
Kind * Insecure * Intelligent/Scholarly * Hesitant * Observant/Reserved * Distrusting1 Sexuality:
Lesbian. This leads to her often keeping personal details about herself close to the chest; though she will readily offer an ear to anyone. Jo is a self proclaimed confidant and aptly able to keep a secret. Harboring her own secrets, keeping others is quite easy for her. From this she has become rather adept at hiding behind emotional masks. Beyond Jo's willingness to listen and help those in need she is most often found quietly kept to herself. She likes to spend her time either studying or practicing her spellcraft/runecrafting. When put in situations where studying or practicing isn't available she would often be found off in the corner, her eyes scanning across the room and intently listening to the happenings around her. She isn't much for speaking up unless addressed directly. While very intelligent for her age she also knows how little she knows about a great many things outside of her passions; this coming from a deep seeded insecurity of appearing unintelligent or ignorant.
Habits:
Smoking Cigarettes - Nervous Fidgeting (Biting her lips / Bouncing her leg / tapping her fingers on tabletops)
Hobbies:
Reading. Apparently she has been on their watch list for Lord knows how long. While there wasn't anything particularly spectacular about Jo's abilities she was using them for less than saintly purposes. Free meals, lodging, etc. Nothing inherently evil though unjust. When approached she was given an ultimatum; Join the X-Factor and use and develop her powers for good or a detention center. It was an easy decision, though primarily as a means to further progress in her studies of magic.
General History:
-- Childhood -- Jolene Martha Meyers was born a normal girl in a normal family to a Pastor father and Elementary School Teacher mother in a small town in New York. The town only had the one church that her father lead, so most people knew the family very closely. Nearly the entire congregation visited baby Jolene after she was born, gushing over the perfect family precious little blessing. -- Youth -- Young Jolene was recently turned fifteen years old, still in the same small town, going to the same church her father lead. Jolene having the pressures of her parents image crushing down on her shoulders. Needing to look prim and pristine at all times. Not deter from her path. Do as she is told. Follow the teachings of the bible. The whole deal. It felt like every morning before she left the house she had to take a test. Her clothes modest, her hair and makeup done perfect, her attitude in check, and everything in proper order. Everyone in town knew her and her family, and if there were any slip ups or mistakes it would find its way to her parents and she would catch hell. One day after school she was out looking through the local strip mall with her closest friend, Layla Kline. Layla was considered by the town a trouble maker, but Jolene convinced her parents she was trying to get Layla back on the right path. In truth Jolene loved spending time with Layla because she was everything Jolene wasn't allowed to be. It was exciting just being around someone with such little cares in the world; such a innocent spirit that let her desires guide her. While Jolene and Layla were out walking around the strip mall they came across a small book shop she had crossed hundreds of times in her short life. But something was different this time. Something drew attention to it. Something strong enough she couldn't help herself but go in. She followed the pull through the store towards the back wear a few boxes lay, opened though filled with books not yet shelved. Jolene began to carefully pull books out of the box, Layla asking what she was looking for though Jolene hardly heard her. There it was, pulling a book away from the middle and near the bottom and old looking book with partially faded letters resided. She picked it up in her slender fingers and looked over it carefully. Like a mother over her new born child. She had to have it. Jolene looking back up to Layla with an innocent smile. "I've been looking everywhere for this book." she lied. Layla laughing and shaking her head in a facade of not caring. She quickly paid for the book and ended the day with Layla to go immediately home. -- The Rise -- Over the next six months Jolene read from cover to cover at least a dozen times. It was a book about Magic. Most scholars would say it was a book on the myths of magic and how ancient civilizations 'practiced' magic. But it was real. After her second time reading through it she decided to try one. A seemingly simple one. A sleep spell. It took her a few tries to get the words and gestures right, but when it succeeded she instantly collapsed into unconsciousness, sleeping nearly twelve hours before waking again. She was in thrilled disbelief. This was real. This whole book was real. She needed to tell someone, anyone, just not her parents or anyone who would tell her parents. So that left only one person, Layla. Jolene fumbled with her phone in excitement to text her to come over as soon as possible. Layla thought Jolene was crazy at first, until Jolene created a small flame floating above her palm out of thin air. For weeks they spent nearly every day together at an old playground no one visited anymore; covered in vines and moss. It was perfect and discreet. Layla tried to do the magic within the book but it never worked for her, only Jolene. Jolene had a strange connection to it Layla simply didn't. Though Layla didn't seem to mind too terribly much, as long as she was there along for the ride. Over this time Jolene filled notebooks upon notebooks with notes and tips to help remind her the small nuances she learned from day to day with magic. Practicing drawing small runes the book particularly emphasized on. Layla and Jolene became incredibly close during this time, Jolene getting her nickname Jo from the other. Jo recounts the times as the two being inseparable. During this time Jo got her first kiss, and more. She learned who she truly was. Who she always was, who she was always hiding from everyone. Their romance a wildfire that pushed magic aside for a time. -- The Fall -- One morning Jo was angrily shaken awake in the morning by her father. Him yelling something unintelligible to her drowsy mind. She quickly sat up, fearing the worst that her parents found out about her and Layla. As her mind cleared and she was finally able to understand the words and noticed the book he was displaying her heart sank. He found her book of magic. He yelled at her for practicing witch craft, the devil, etc etc. He was a whirlwind of anger and nearly to the point of striking her there in the bed. Most of the words have faded over time, though the bite at her heart from his anger still clings to her to this day. Before she knew it he proclaimed he would fix her. Like she was broken, shattered and nearing worthless. And he would start by burning this heretical book of lies and demonology. He stormed out of her room and down stairs towards their fire place. Jo running after him pleading with him to stop and to listen and understand it wasn't evil. It was beautiful. But he heard none of it. WIthout hesitation he threw the book into the flame, though Jo didn't hesitate either. She rushed past him and pulled the book from the flames, burning her fingers in the act. She spun to face him, arms clung tight around the book defensively. He stared at Jo with fire in his eyes before raising a hand and striking it across her cheek with enough force to send her stumbling across the room and crashing into the couch. She faced him again, her eye bloodshot from the force though she didn't hold her cheek; they remained tight around the book. He then told her no devil worshiping witch would live in his home and told her it was the book or her that was leaving. Jo hesitated, but quickly bolted off the couch and out of the house. She went to the only place she could think of, Layla's house. She knocked frantically on the door and when Layla finally opened the door she explained everything. Asking if she could stay with her and her dad, but she sadly refused. In truth Layla did this to protect Jo, she knew who her father truly was and Jo wouldn't have been safe there either. But Jo thought Layla also abandoned her, and before Layla could explain she ran off. Layla calling out for her to stop and wait, but Jo ignored the calls. -- Present Day -- For over the past two years Jo had been living on her own in New York City. Using her magic to influence others to help her survive. Giving her free lodging, giving her free meals, etc. Stay as long as she could in one place before she had to move around again within the city. She abandoned her old life. Her old bonds. Refusing to build other bonds that could ultimately be torn apart and leave her abandoned again. She was surviving. Looking for new knowledge in magic, though she found hardly anything in this time. A few small books on rudimentary magic and the like. Nothing like her first book that she keeps with her to this day.

Extras
Character Quote:
"Don't let people know things about you they could ultimately use against you."
Theme Song:
"Easy Go" by Grandtheft & Delaney Jane.
Anything Else:
Peter Porker // Spider-Ham.
