Everyone employed by Atlas (read: basically everyone) is given a share of the company and although small, means they are entitled to Promotion Elections. These elections are the process which a workplace votes in their new managers (with final approval coming from even hire up) and are staggered to make sure that they don't happen all at the same time, breaking the system. These elections are as much about skill and leadership as they are about popularity and intrigue, especially once you get to the higher ranks. After being elected, each supervisor gets the right to vote for a manager, who then can vote for a branch manager and upwards. Generally speaking, the higher one wishes the climb, the more stock in the company they must have. Stock can be bought using money and can be considered a safe investment but it is still very expensive. High level offices are effectively gated by these stock requirements, officially to make sure that "those charged with the responsibility have shown enough aptitude and commitment as required", but in reality is to prevent someone from rapidly climbing the ladder without paying their dues. At the very top is the Board of Directors, with each Director overseeing a major Subsidiary Group (basically Department or Ministry) who elect a CEO from among their ranks. They too also technically started at the bottom once; its just so happens that they got a head start from daddy, knew the right people and greased the right palms. Of course, they still preach "lifting yourself with your bootstraps" capitalism to those who didn't have a silver spoon to solidify their power while pushing the idea that the ACR is the true successor of the Apavock Republic. The Board has learned enough from their experiences that they cannot use the same business-like mindset for running an actual government and have become willing to accept things which do not promise a return on a investment.

Although the Atlas Corporation has a number of holdings, subsidiaries and partnered companies that all produce a number of goods and offer a number of services for both domestic and foreign consumption and trade, there are three main components which form the pillar of their economy. In addition, Atlas serves as a hub of transportation between the Core and the Frontier, offering rest, relaxation and resupply to vessels going both ways.
Asteroid Mining & Rare Minerals:
Being located on the Mid Rim and Frontier, as well as having a number of large, mineral rich asteroid belts in their systems have proven to have been quite the windfall, even during the Apavock Republic. Everything from common iron to expensive gold to even more esoteric ores can be found in the domain of Atlas. They also have a number of dedicated foundries on planets and in space stations who refine and create alloys although the lion share of the output is reserved for domestic usage. Much of these raw minerals, smelted metals and refined alloys are sold to nearby systems for the creation of everything from star ships to consumer electronics. Most interestingly though, has been the discovery of a breed of rust-colored algae who devour industrial waste and a special nutrient synthesis (a closely guarded secret) and secret a byproduct that can be used in the creation of stronger alloys. This "Algaeic Alloy" is not listed for sale by any official Atlas outlets, but smugglers have managed to get samples past Atlas Security forces for other empires to experiment with.
Mercenary Guards & Frontier Escort:
Located between what is affectionately known as "Civilized Space" and "the Wildlands", the ACR is no stranger to the dangers of the frontier. Indeed, it was regular pirate raids that forced the Apavock Republic to become so militarized and nationalistic and even before the Atlas Initiative, a number of interstellar companies had lobbied for the right to arm their convoys and ships for protection. Although pirate activities have lessened in recent times, there is still plenty of dangers out there but Atlas promises to keep anyone who pays safe. Outside of just protecting settlers, prospectors and travelers, Atlas PMCs have been seen guarding compounds, extracting VIPs, putting down rebellions, and protecting delegations. In more recent years however, they've become more reluctant in hiring their PMCs for more offensive jobs out of fear that PMCs might be forced to turn their guns on each other and of any PR scandals their mercenaries might be a part of.
Higher Education & Research Centers:
Although not nearly as prestigious, rigorous or elite as those found in the CCN, Atlas hosts a number of colleges, academies and universities for those seeking higher education and learning, for a... modest fee. True that the requirements for enrollment are far less strict and binding than that of the CCN's universities on in the Core Worlds and at first glance also appear to be much cheaper, if one was to properly do the math, they will find that Atlas as expertly figured out how to nickle and dime these students for as much as they can and how to sell the most amount of stuff to them all without letting them feel the true financial brunt. Indeed the fact that Atlas offers many work-study and part time job listings helps offset these monetary requirements. Beyond that, Atlas proudly claims the title of the best equipped and financed research centers, engineering foundries and physics laboratories in the Mid Rim. As with much of their expat population, they attract a number of learned individuals who seek a work place with more lax restrictions and facilities able to match their ambitions. There is a reason why Atlas doesn't insure its research labs anymore unless they have proven to be stable both financially and structurally.
Media Production Megaplexes and Entertainment
Atlas are masters of media and have massive town-sized complexes dedicated to media production. They possess the ability to make movies and shows from planning to production to postproduction to advertising to exhibition. Many of the top rated and most popular shows, both live action and animated, can find their roots in one of these Atlas Media Megaplexes like the hit medieval political fantasy โ€œKingmakerโ€ and acclaimed crime thriller โ€œBlack Orchestraโ€. In addition, they posses several โ€œAdventureplexesโ€, travelling space stations that are like Disney Worlds in space. Each is themed around a different setting, providing a safe and entertaining (and corp approved) fun. Some of the larger ones are fixed in place while other can move around. Thereโ€™s an equal mix of family-friend and adults only Megaplexes and surprisingly, they often have equal amounts of visitation. The most popular right now is the Frontier Adventure which is making tours around the Core and promises a โ€œrealistic and authentic Frontier experienceโ€.

In the domain of Atlas, its influence is constantly felt. Every aspect is permeated by a constant barrage of Atlas products and PR and for as heavy handed as they can be, they're also sometimes completely absent. Strict building codes means that everything has to be "up to Atlas's high standards", yet they leave the day to day running and maintenance (or lack thereof) to landlords. A constantly updated algorithm acts as a firewall to ensure that nothing "harmful and malicious to the well being of Atlas employees" reaches the masses, yet any site with a certificate of operation is given complete free reign to do as they wish with minimal oversight. Stock Shares Citizens of Atlas are called โ€œEmployeesโ€ (underaged minors are called โ€œInternsโ€) and as is company policy, all Employees are entitled to a Stock Share in the company. Although comparatively tiny (think 0.0001% levels), this is used as a personโ€™s paycheck given and also as defacto identification. Much of society is revolved around increasing oneโ€™s own Stock Share and there for oneโ€™s own wealth and status. People who do not have any Stock Shares are effectively condemned as they cannot gain money through normal, legal means and is effectively a death sentience. Interns are not paid their Stock Shares until they come of age and legally become Employees. Freelancers Somewhere between private mercenary, adventurer and glorified unemployment, Freelancers are people who are not employed by a company yet are not part of any major criminal elements. Although the most common types of Freelancers are those involved with being hired guns or private eyes, the term Freelancer can mean any number of professions in which the person isnโ€™t necessarily tied down to a larger company. These include private chiefs, personal drivers, maintenance crews. Freelancers are bound to the Atlas Freelancer Development Program which serve as a sort of central hub that keeps records, gives missions and delivers rewards. Official stances on Freelancer waxes and wanes depending on how much theyโ€™re needed. Convenience and Efficiency Perhaps one of the most controversial aspects of Atlas culture to outsiders, the corporation always keeps tabs and knows what its employees are doing or going on about. Although not so extensive as to be constantly monitoring them at all times, there is absolutely nothing that is kept private and with enough money and time, you can find out about anything about anyone. While many outsiders abhor this lack of privacy and personal freedoms, there is something to be said about how much life is personalized and streamlined for Atlas employees. Everyoneโ€™s personal quarters are automatically updated to fit their mood and interests, smart advertising boards can insert (a slightly altered) image of the viewer on to itself, anything involving personal data or requires entry of personal data is done at speeds far faster than anywhere else in the galaxy that values personal privacy. To Atlas, the fact that they can automatically have their favorite foods ordered by their personal AI or know that they will always be able to get their personalized medicines at any pharmacy is worth letting the Corp know what they watch late at night and what their passwords are. Subliminal Messaging and Influencing Through its mastery of media, Atlas higher ups have become extremely effective at mass manipulations. From birth, all Atlas children are effectively made more suggestible by linking certain emotions and feelings to words and phrases. For example, โ€œdiscountโ€ is taught to be linked to happiness, excitement and general goodness. Pirates is basically a heinous lay word of criminal, villain and general bad person. As such, an astute outside may realize how much of Atlasโ€™s internal advertising and propaganda has several words that are very common and repeated. Societal shaping and shifting has been perfected to a well guarded science that even outsiders have been known to fall victim to it. Stereotypes To those who view Atlas favorably, their typical image of an Atlas Employee and an Atlas Executive are considered high praise. Eddy Employee is seen as hard working, efficient, dedicated to their job and frugal, able to balance their finances well. Matthew Manager is seen as a charming, quippy man with a plan with a vision for the future, the ambition to drive him and the go-getting attitude to see it through all while charging a fair price to people who want to use it. They are paragons of do-it-yourself spirit, company loyalty and models of savvy businessmen and shrewd workers To those who see Atlas negatively, its employees are easily controlled and greedy. Eddy Employee is seen as gullible, a blind sheep who follows money and orders without question, drones obsessed with consumerism and with a head filled with propaganda and commands by their higher ups. Matthew Manager is greed, opportunistic, untrustworthy and a con man who would happily sell a hundred of his lesser into slavery to make a quick buck; someone to be reviled and hated as the epitome of corporate greed and unethical capitalism. His underlings are mindless consumers and on par with robots in terms of their ability to think for themselves and readily give up their freedom for money or convenience. Almost all Employees wear one of some level of complexity and advancements. Many aspects of everyday life have become integrated with the Frames as seen by the fact that while most do not possess personal vehicles, a popular form of public transit is the "Lift Rails" which allow a user to be picked up by their Frames and travel between stations in urban areas. More advanced models require the installation of a Neural Network Ingratiation Port, but lower end models don't. Multi Media Megastudios: Recently developed in Atlas's attempts to break out in the wider media industry, these MMM Studios are massive installations and centers that can be likened to entire towns dedicated to media production which can be specialized towards a genre.. A movie can be entirely created in ones of these MMM Studios needing only minimal outside help. Through the use of technology and advanced SFX, these studios can replicate huge, elaborate movie and TV sets from small cozy towns to massive open battlefields with thousands of soldiers. The critically acclaimed "Black Orchestra" and "Kingmaker" have been produced in these MMM Studios. Smart AI Droids: Originally created to help with the massive calumniation for business transactions, projections and calculations, the development of AI has benefited greatly from Atlas's more relaxed regulations on research centers. Now they are used in many aspects of life from calculating FTL travel, to guiding military munitions, to helping predict the weather. Recently a push has been made to give these AIs more physical bodies and rumor has it that the next generation of "Synthetics" are soon to arrive. Within Atlas, AI are considered as alive as any organic being even if Rampancy means their lives are shorter than most. Iron Bastion PD System: Perhaps the most famous of Atlas's military developments, the IBPDS is a system which combines target computers, advanced flak guns and electronic warfare to help sheild ships from both strike craft and space-born missiles and torpedoes, both of which are favorites of pirates. Atlas claims it to be the "best ship point defense system in the galaxy" and while it hasn't been put up against many other dedicated warships, its record against pirate fleets and raiders is very impressive, and profitable. Type 80b Sublight Detection System: Another instrument created for anti-piracy duties, the Type 80b Harold-Yangamok Interstellar Sublight Signal Detection and Interdiction System, or simply the Type 80b Radar is Atlas's primary defense against cloaked pirate vessels laying in ambush. Like the Iron Bastion PDS, its worth against high end military stealth ships is dubious at best, Atlas ships have rarely fallen for invisible traps since its creation and mass installation. Mass Conveyors: While its true that the Atlas Navy doesn't have many battleship-sized warships, it would be a mistake to claim that Atlas overall doesn't have many battleship-sized ships. Many of these larger models are officially known as "Mass Conveyors", huge vessels dedicated to mining, resource extraction, refinement, storage and production. They can easily be seen as factory ships it often being said that you can tell how much influence Atlas has in a system based on the number of Mass Conveyors there are.

With its roots in business, Atlas technically does not have an army and instead has an "Asset Protection and Security Division". The APSD or simply "Atlas Security" is geared entire towards anti-piracy actions and trade protection. Recruits from within Atlas Space are given better pay and a promise of increased stock in the company in exchange for their service. However, Atlas also enjoys hiring soldiers from other nations, promising a generous rewards package, an ID scrub and a chance to start anew at Atlas. Much of their day to day operations however, is actually internal policing with the assistance of a dedicated Private Eye group. Each Guard undergoes modest surgery to install a Neural Network Port, allowing them to wear the Exo Frames and Exo Armors that are standard issued to each Guard. They are designed to be approachable and friendly, part of an on going hearts and mind campaign to humanize the Guard so that common people can really trust them (and hopefully hire them). They are considered inferior to many other standing armies but collectively are used to combat and fairly experienced either because of an individual background or having to deal with regular pirate raids/PMC assignments. Much of their day to day weaponry is close quarters: TSS-5c "Automag" handguns, TSMP-22 "Blitzer" SMGs, and TSE-08 "Dinnerbell" Shotguns. Traditional assault rifles, heavy ordinance, snipers and other traditional military equipment is not commonly carried by Atlas Guards but are instead typically used by either Atlas PMCs or the Legion. The Legion is the offensive arm to the APSD's typically defensive stance. They are assault shock marines, often tasked with raiding criminal compounds, boarding pirate vessels and storming raider lairs. Legionaries are given a much more intensive set of augmentations, enhancements and training to put them on par with the special forces of other empires. Equipped with heavier weapons and a full set of powered PALADIN War Plate which unlike traditional combat armor used by the Guards, completely obscures the person wearing it, they are brutally efficient at their jobs. A number of movies and games featuring them as the main character have seen critical and profitable success making their distinct armor and emblem well known across the galaxy. Atlas PMCs form a core part of many Frontier expeditions and even Core World guards. They can be seen everywhere from patrolling Atlas branch offices, rescuing VIPs, delivering dangerous or sensitive materials, bolstering local law enforcement, protecting politicians and guarding convoys. Only APSD Guards are eligable to be hired at a variety of costs depending on whats needed with the Legion being exclusively for Atlas's personal use. In recent times, Atlas has become much more cautious as to who they hire their PMCs out to after several were found to be used as mercenaries in less than savory plots which costed Atlas some valuable PR. Like the ASPD, the AMVF is optimized against raiders and pirates meaning that what they lack in pure broadside and offensive weaponry, they make up for in some of the best point defense and star fighters. Atlas possesses few dedicated warships, many easily falling into the classification of "armed merchant vessels" Atlas Ships feature less heavy firepower but have a number of drones, airwings and boarding parties at their disposal along with arguably one of the most sophisticated Point Defense systems. Atlas is willing to sell some models of unarmed vessels to civilians and their semi-private contractors; in the Frontier the Atlas logo and ships are a common sight in places of activity and interest.

[row] [cell]

QUICKSILVER-CLASS CLIPPER

[suB]The smallest of these are the Clipper ships, nimble and used mostly for high speed delivery of VIPs, executives and other important personnel. The West Wind was one of the designs produced during the Rylicade Reformations where many of the now famous "flying bricks" where created. Unlike the Quicksilver, the West Wind was created with security use in mind. It has much more customizable cargo and passenger space, making it able to be adapted to a number of different roles from transporting charity to delivering Legionaries to pirate bases.
[/sub]
[/cell][/row] [row][cell]

[/cell][/row]

[row] [cell]

MARATHON-CLASS CARRACKS

[suB]Carracks are the most ubiquitous vessel of Atlas, flashing the stylized letter A logo and the Atlas promise of a new tomorrow of prosperity. Designed during the Rylicade Reformation, the Wolf-class was originally intended to be used in orbital construction and mining. As such, while it boasts a fairly small compliments of weapons, it possesses a very strong "Void Tether", a tractor beam used for stabilizing stations and pulling asteroids. "Wolf Packs" have been known to descend on ships and use their void tethers to effectively rip apart their hulls in a brutally satisfying display of savagery.
[/sub]
[/cell][/row] [row][cell]

[/cell][/row]

[row] [cell]

SCION-CLASS GUNBOATS

[suB]Gunboats are one of the few ships designed purely for security, having no intentions of carrying any significant cargo. They come 20 FDE-8 Energy turrets mounted on platforms on either side of the ship (10 on each side, 5 on top of the platform, 5 on the bottom), as well as a pair of torpedo tubes. Gunboats can comfortably serve as the mobile base for a small unit of Guards, able to carry up to 1 company of soldiers with all their (limited) gear while still having enough room to have a number of recon drones.
[/sub]
[/cell][/row] [row][cell]

[/cell][/row]

[row] [cell]

OLYMPIAN-CLASS FRIGATE

[suB]Lovingly called the "Flying Brick", the Atlas Frigate is a mixed design ship, capable of being fully militarized, fully civilian or a hybrid of both. A favorite tactic of Atlas is to have a mix of different configurations of Frigates to ensure pirates never know which ones have guns or not until they open fire. It was originally envisioned as a transport for volatile minerals and unstable compounds, many of the armor upgrades and interior bulkheads meant to protect the crew in case of a leak are just as capable when under combat situations.
[/sub]
[/cell][/row] [row][cell]

[/cell][/row]

[row] [cell]

ORDINAL-CLASS HEAVY FRIGATE

[suB]Somewehre between a frigate and a galleon, the Ordinal-Class is perhaps the most iconic ship design to come out of the Rylicade Reformation and the forebearer of all other similar sihp designs. No Atlas fleet is complete without at least a few of these ships and their captains are held in arguably higher respect than that of Galleons for the fact they don't have the luxury of being able to stand back away from combat. Many semi-private contractors utilize an Ordinal as the head of their personal fleets and is considered perhaps the best ship to ever be made by Atlas with its balance of firepower, cargo capacity, speed and drone control systems.
[/sub]
[/cell][/row] [row][cell]

[/cell][/row]

[row] [cell]

DAEDALUS-CLASS GALLEON

[suB]Quite literally what happens when you turn a super freighter into a warship, the Daedalus was created shortly after the fall of the Apavock Republic and formed the basis of the first fleet. Although in more modern times, its unarmored civilian model is more common, several Daedalus still remain in active service for their unmatched size, fire power and also extensive drone runways, control hubs and support modules.
[/sub]
[/cell][/row] [row][cell]

[/cell][/row]

[row] [cell]

LEVIATHAN-CLASS GALLEON

[suB]Built on the frame of a mass conveyor and orbital factory, Leviathans live up to their name with their ability to function as a mobile base for entire security and peacekeeping operations. Unlike many Atlas ships, it features full broadside capabilities. Its can let loose devastating salvos to accompany ground landings supported by strike craft wings and missile batteries. Frontier justice has never looked so intimidating.
[/sub]
[/cell][/row] [row][cell]

[/cell][/row]

Rework Stuff for later

https://pixiview.com/djanbazan-tactical-group/726135139892697974/ https://pixiview.com/imgur-post-imgur/425660602281434223/ https://pixiview.com/1419738480126jpg-1132%C3%97800/366550857166644854/ https://pixiview.com/will-jinho-bik-is-a/444660163196997898/ https://marchofwar.fandom.com/wiki/European_Alliance_Military

- Apavock Republic was a nation located in the Mid Rim with some holdings in the Frontier, very nationalistic and fairly militarized due to constant pirate raids - A series of bad leaders who made bad choices and especially deadly pirate attacks crippled the Republic who was further crippled by infighting and politicking - Several corporations tried to come together to create the Atlas Initiative to support the failing government and help prop it up - Things only got worse and the Atlas Initiative had to take on more and more government responsibilities instead of just giving funding - When it became clear that the Apavock Republic was in its death throws, the companies behind the Atlas Initiative merged into the Atlas Corporation; it wasn't hard since they were at this point one of the few remaining legitimate powers and employed most of the people in the Republic - Soon after its formation, they went to battle with a Pirate Warlord hoping to try and use the corpse of the Republic as his new empire, only after heavy looses and the destruction of one of the Republic's greatest warships did Atlas realize that they couldn't simply operate as a normal profit-focused business and that their responsibilities as the continuation of the Republic meant they would have to make sacrifices. - Recent they've started to push back into the Frontier to expand their holdings
