[@Gentlemanvaultboy] What about something like a time bubble? He can already stop time, and speed it up for specific objects, what if he could create a pocket area where time just flows differently?
Or what about a savepoint ability? Time mages often "save" their life information in the event they get killed at some future point. Should they ever die, they would instead wake up back at the point at which they saved.
