It didn't take Maisy long walking along the road to come upon the ruined remains of a tipped over covered wagon, the canvas top torn and bloodstained and the insides ravaged. A few horses ambled around, grazing without a care in the world. She stepped closer, looking inside the wagon, when suddenly a roar came from right behind. She spun around to see a large green man sprinting down the hill at her, sword raised. She yelped, bringing up her lance to brace herself for the monsters downward chop. To her surprise he didn't hit all that hard. In fact, her arms barely moved and the monster stumbled back. Snarling, the thing leaped forward with a jumping stab to her gut and she leaped to the side, the feather talisman doing good work already. Maisy decided to they using a skill. Gripping her weapon like a baseball bat she drew back, after a moment the weapon began to glow a soft blue, and then she swung. She caught the monster squad in the side and sent him flying into the destroyed wagon, splintering the thing and sending wood flying everywhere. The monster exploded out of the shattered remains, caught up in the bloody canvas, and Maisy leveled her lance point first at him and activated her other skill. She surged forward, totally unprepaired for the sudden burst of speed. She impaled it, driving her lance deep into its chest and still going. The momentum carried booth Maisy and the monster tumbling to the ground in a heap. She pushed herself up off the dead monsters chest, shaking her head to try and get her bearing, only to have the thing start to sparkle then dissolve under her, leaving only his sword and head. She pucked up the head and looks at it in her inventory. Gromosh the Marauder (Level 3) She blinked at that. Maybe she was a little over leveled.
