Maisy skidded to a momentary halt and spun on her heel, pointing her lance in a differed direction as the blue energy flickered off and then flared back up withing a moment. She shot off again in the new direction, right at the town wall. Cutting the power before impact she turned again, zipping along parallel to the wall until she ended up right back at the entrance. It had been pretty hard to get up to this sort of control. For the first few hours it had been like running around with an unstable rocket strapped to her back, ever activation throwing her over every time she used it, but after a while she'd started getting a feel for it. How much speed she gained, how much control she had during the burst, how long it went, how to cancel her forward momentum. That last one had been a god send, because it was after she learned she could do that that she'd started trying to pivot to new directions. Now? She though she was pretty good at it. She'd even used it to plow over a few more of those weird wolves and birds as she'd practiced. It turned out you didn't even need to hit full on to do damage. All in all, it was a really useful move while also being embarrassingly fun to do. But the sun was giving down now, and not inky did she have a meeting to get to but she really didn't want to accidentally zip into a river in the dark. So she walked back into the main squad of town, found a nice place to cit at the central fountain, and patiently waited.
