Resources lost from conflict can be reclaimed by cannibalizing dead.  Hive does not need to continue expansion south.  Further cultivation of berries calculated to greatly offset initial resource demands.  Forest east of secondary hive yet to be explored, can send expeditionary forces to find new food.  Project gain calculated to be greater than overall loss.

Warlord creation enables new possibilities for hive.
